I disagree. Wu doesn't put out the same quality they used to. There are better ones today. A new Kendrick Lamar album, or a new Run The Jewels album, is probably going to be better than a new Wu Tang album. Their last few group albums haven't exactly been top tier quality. 8 diagrams was, from what I remember, quite forgettable. A Better Tomorrow was ok... But not many reasons to go back to it.

Kendrick last album was waayyyy overrated, HE'S not even a quarter of the way in as then dude's and he's on the clock. RUN the Jewels.... come on now. That's plain disrespectful even naming them in the same conversation as Wu-Tang. All legends make so so albums at some point in between the greatness... 🙌🏾 FOREVER

@@e.double563 Doesn't their recent efforts count? Let's be honest, no fan is going to name a recent Wu album as their favourite. I feel like you are implying that the decline of quality is a given. But is it? Plenty of artists release top quality music decades after their debut. I don't think many Wu fans would consider recent Wu albums to be top tier hip hop music. It's mediocre at best. Personally, I am more excited for their solo efforts. These days, they are better as solo artists than as a group. I'd say Kendrick Lamar is one the best rappers of all time. His last album had some great tunes. Humble is awesome, and he's pretty great live too! Which, unfortunately, is rare in hip hop. In my experience, rappers tend to play their music and mumble the lyrics along to the song playing, together with five other random people on stage. Before you say it... This includes both older artists AND newer artists. What's wrong with Run The Jewels? They are amazing and have been extremely consistent with their quality. We're not talking about releasing something that wasn't great. When was the last time Wu released an album that was great? It's been at least twenty years, hasn't it? Overall, I think Beastie Boys is the best in hip hop. The reason for that is because of how consistent they were, quality wise, for thirty years. They were also very innovative, always doing something new on their albums AND their live performance. (Innovation in both areas is something hip hop could use more of. I'm including both old and new artists.)

Rem, Solomon Childs, and Street Life still sound great. Under appreciated rappers for sure. Wu had some real talent under the umbrella that went under the radar. If you look at the track list of the remedy album it looks like an effort that would have been put out for a main Wu-Member back in the 90s, the crew really showed up for Rem.

As a former producer and tourmate for international multiplatinum hip hop group Nappy Roots I realize that it's time to bring the real back to the game. Real skills real lyrics. I was just filming with method Man the other week. And letting him know that the whole Vibe and culture in Hip Hop has got the change now. It's time for real artists and real MCS to take it back over rather older artists or New artist as long as they are lyrical artists and have content and subject matter and not trying to sound like the next clone which is just destructive in nature with the music 😎
