This was really the last year before internet streaming impacted pop culture.

2006 was the absolute peak for civilisation I think. -social media was in its infancy and not as intrusive in our lives -Mobile technology was still primitive, only used to call and text, no apps in the palm of your hand -MSN messenger -Music was actually pretty good -Shitty opinions were not shared and posted all over the internet

I'm 26 now I was 12 or 13 then and this almost got me in tears just remembering being that young again before the world deluted my precious soul.. this was great my guy or girl

Soo nostalgic. I was 12/13 so this was the first year I started listening to modern/popular music not just what my parents put on, so a ton of my favorite songs are from 2006 and 2007

I turned 19 that year and I was a jaded mallgoth out of touch with pop culture and the only nostalgia rush I got was from that brief clip of Shut Me Up by Mindless Self Indulgence cause I was a fan of them a few years prior to it's initial sneak preview and getting to see and be a part of when they blew up with that song and video on MySpace and KZfaq made me feel like a witness to/part of something big.

I was 20 years old. 3 years out of high school, in a wild relationship just living life and not worrying about things like politics or anything else. Climate change was not even a thought. Which is sad really because that's the entire reason we are where we are. Ah ignorance was indeed bliss.

Though I'm nostalgic for this year, it feels like the beginning of decline for me. I was born in 1994 and I remember most fondly the times before late 00s, even though late 00s are still a bittersweet era for me. 2010s are when the nightmare begins.

2006 was a good year for me to see some great amazing things to come, however my ‘06 high school graduation that year really sucked just like Disney’s High School Musical. Oh, how I miss the past! 2006 was a a dear year to my heart. I was a 16 years old teen full of energy and eager to learn and have fun; I mastered English back then and I was learning Japanese by myself, trying my best in voice over, growing my anime collection, and enjoying RPGs on my PS2. The world ended for me in 2011. After that I'm just a floating soul in on this earth.

Swimming in the pool with my friends in the summer, going ding dong ditching in the evening; playing soccer; playing RuneScape ( when Zezima was in his prime ) ; MapleStory ( before Big Bang ), video games, music, KZfaq was in its Golden Prime and didn't clutter with TotalDrama crap; no Instagram,TikTok, no smartphones ( had flip phones then ); when mp3s were ubiquitous - namely speaking iPods and others I may be forgetting. USB fly drives (at least what I called them because of size and convenience) were a great novelty and really became useful for me with the new computer and broadband connection to boot back in December!

ooohh I have VERY fond memories of 2006. The year when i started with KZfaq, finally got highspeed internet, was VERY also very much into analog photography and shot film after film after film like crazy and even got my first Super 8 filmcamera and shot 2 last rolls of Kodachrome 40 and sent it to Kodak labs in Lausanne, Switzerland, for developing. My best buddy got his PSP in 2006 when ever i visited him he was always talking with so much love for this handheld. It was also him who brought my attention to HDV back then and HD videos in general, when he showed me some WMV HD demo videos from the Microsoft promo website that advertised WMV HD as HD video coded for internet videos. LOL thank god that didn't become a thing but i remember seeing the first videos and was blown away. Even at "HD Ready" resolution it looked amazing. The summer of 2006 was awesome too. Being in Berlin and seeing everyone losing their mind over the football worldcup.lol
