I thought it was America 2-Night. Guess it was named that the second season. I wish I'd watched it in the late 70's and will try to watch some episodes one day.

@@richstrobel That sounds right. I'd forgotten. I couldn't stand Mary Hartman Mary Hartman but Fernwood followed her and it was can't miss TV. Fred Willard was just as awesome!

A 3 year old passing and Martins really got to me in the last week. I'm not kidding. I'm not even that sad on a personal loss. I wasn't close to her but still.

I fell in love with Martin Mull the first time I watched Fernwood 2 Nught and it became my favorite because of him. It was part of my nightly ritual and better than SNL,,, been looking for episodes everywhere but no luck so far,,, happy memories though

I loved all his work, but I always think of a song he used to sing while playing his electric guitar. Something about "Am I in Heaven, or am I in Miami" I loved that song ever since I first heard him sing it, back in the early 80s. RIP Martin Mull🙏

Don't forget his role in the funny "Mr. Mom." My favorite work of his was in "Fernwood Tonight" and later "America Tonight." He and Fred Willard were an absolute riot as the show hosts. I also had a comedy album on which he sings a ballad, crooning, "Don't put off 'til tomorrow, what you can do today, don't leave things half finished..." Then he stops singing and says, "That's all we've done on that." Thanks for the many laughs. RIP Martin Mull.

I remember his work on “Fernwood Tonight”. I hope the masses will discover this gem now. All of his other works are great, & he was a reliable source of entertainment. Still, his “Fernwood Tonight” was a really groundbreaking piece. Simply, he was fun (not just funny)! Good times, Martin. Thanks & “Cheers”! 👍

It's such a shock to me to find out he's dead. I loved him as Colonel Mustard in the movie Clue, and my dad and I will always remember him on the movie Mr. Mom. He's a talent that will sorely be missed. R.I.P.

Been a big fan of MM since Fernwood/America 2 Night back in 1977-78, one of the funniest shows ever on TV. I enjoyed watching him in anything he did but he will always be Garth/Barth Gimble. Very sad to think Barth, Jerry and Happy are all gone now. I feel very old...

Fernwood 2Night and America 2Night. Shows that were absolutely hysterical. Martin Mull as Barth Gimble; Fred Willard as Jerry Hubbard; and Frank DeVol as Happy Kyme. TV rarely was this funny. Sarcasm was oozing all over the place.

He was always fun, no matter in what he appeared. Yeah, the way time moves is just plain “sucky” sometimes. Still, he made us happier while he was around & we’ll always have the best memories of him. “Sucky”. 👍😐

It was funny that he reunited with Fred Willard from Fernwood Tonight to portray a homosexual couple on Roseanne, the dialogue between them was very convincing but amusing at the same time. Such a talented and comedic actor,RIP Martin

We watched a Sitcom called “Not Dead Yet” and in season 1 (last year) he played a person who died recently and visits the person who is writing his obituary. That is the premise of the show. Every week she writes an obituary of a recently deceased and they bother her while she writing it. I say to my wife that I thought that Martin Mull had already passed and the next day I saw the news that he passed 😢😢

He was also in the Charlie Day (from ‘It’s Always Sunny”) produced & co-created show “The Cool Kids”. It only ran one season from 2018-2019, but he starred alongside Leslie Jordan (also R.I.P.), Vicki Lawrence, and David Alan Grier. It’s a shame it wasn’t renewed.

I’m very sad to hear this news. I know him from Fernwood Tonight from the 70’s and of course Roseanne. He was hilarious in Roseanne. I would watch Roseanne every week. Also the re-runs. Rest In Peace Martin…….you will be missed.❤😢
