Never forget what they did to Ed Piskor. Accusations are not fact.

Accusations form your opinions. Your opinions are perceived by you as fact. A great similar example are the Cosby accusers. I wonder why it was never asked why no one at the parties these women were drugged at did anything when Bill abducted these drugged women? Whuzzat? They were already with him alone & voluntarily in his hotel room when he handed them the glass of water & pill they then voluntarily consumed, either knowing what was in the pill or not because it all makes sense that none of these women knew what aspirin looked like or saw him take it from a bottle marked with it when they came to his hotel room with a headache. The pathetic fact of the matter is that people judge "their" group as Unquestionable. "Media" & 'Government' don't exist. But everyone in Western society perceives them as people with morality. No one will hold 'media' accountable. You _can't!_ But it's convenient to point out how *others misuse it* to do harm while ignoring when we ourselves participate in that. You want to have the myth of media morality more than you want to take responsibility _AND_ you want to also be able to point the finger at others when this state allows them to do harm? Well, this is what happens when y'all want to enjoy the fruits of short-term thinking.

What Bryan Christopher Moss said is a really nice tribute. I wish Ed was still here.

Thank you for making this video. I didn't know Ed or Jim, but I would watch their show regularly; it was like comfort food. I was a kid trying to break into comics when WIzard came out (my art appeared in issue #26), and when they started the show, I was ultimately on board; as you said, it evolved into something even more significant than how it began, they started connecting us to the talents we loved as kids and inspired many of us to return to the drafting board. Regarding the incidents that led up to Ed's choice, I feel like there's a lot of cultural upheaval that has many men feeling like they have a target on their backs, especially if they have any professional success; often, men don't feel like they have anyone to turn to when that spotlight gets turned on them. While I understand why someone wouldn't want to wade into that mess, if we knew what the attacks were driving Ed to, maybe a few more kind words and supportive gestures would have changed things? Anyway, I am still trying to figure out what the 'right' answer is, but we need to remember Ed, not just for his sake but also for ours. At the end of the day, we're all walking the same path, but we don't have to walk it alone.

I envy all of these guys who really knew Ed. I wish I could’ve spent time just hanging out with him, and really would’ve loved being able to see his work space and spend time there watching him work.

Thanks for doing this tribute! I started watching Cartoonist Kayfabe back in April of 2021, I was surfing through Utube and found a plethora of comic book channels and I definitely interested! Binge watched a bunch of episodes, great variety of subjects and Ed and Jim really inspired me to draw more than I was! Morning coffee and Ed made spit my coffee out when they were reviewing Spidey Annual/Ditko 1 from the early 60’s, Ed made a joke about Aunt May acting like Mr.Magoo! I recently got a facsimile and I immediately thought of Ed’s sarcasm! I met Jim at a store signing at a local LCS the following year and then both at Baltimore in October of 2022, I met Ed and Jim, both very friendly and chatted about their comics etc. Ed is gone and that really sucks! I hope Jim will continue the channel as a way to honor Ed’s legacy!🙏🤞 Perseverance to Ed’s family and friends in the days ahead! You have a great channel too and keep up the good work!👍⚡️👋

Saving this for a time where I can sit and thoroughly enjoy it, but thank you for making this. I met Ed once when he was a teacher, and the guy was such a joy. His life, his person and his soul was his art. Never forgive the people who were quick to turn their backs on him, those he called friends and coworkers. That includes the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. But most importantly, live life through your passions like he did.

It's a real tragedy. It's shocking. I can't seem to reconcile what has happened even though I am just a reader. It is truly evil what that person did to him, not to mention the parasites who seemed to revel in this happening then became sanctimonious when a groundswell of support appeared on Ed's behalf. This modern era is chilling and I can't process that this occurred at all. He must have been a sensitive soul. r.i.p. Ed Piskor

The thing is his "victim", Molly Dwyer, didn't even meet with Ed after their messaging. She just called him a creep, due to the awkward flirting, but I think the bastards who turned Ed into a pariah were jealous of him and wanted any excuse to exclude him from the industry. Damn them all, and we have to had better conversations on how we talk to each other.

I'm sad I can't thumbs this up more than once. Ed and Jim got me back into comics and drawing again after more than a decade. His love of wrestling and talking about cartooning in the carny vernacular was awesome. I never met him but feel like I lost a friend.

Still super busted up about this. Did Jim Rugg ever release an official statement after Piskor's suicide? I have not seen or heard of any subsequent revelations. Piskor named many individuals in his last letter to the world, and Rugg was named in some very specific ways. As of yet, I'm not even aware of Rugg confirming/disputing Piskor's version of their final conversation. Has that happened somewhere online that I'm not aware of? Piskor claimed that Fantagraphics owed him money at the time of his death. Has that been confirmed/resolved to anyone's knowledge? Piskor deserves to have his name cleared of further suspicion in order to be remembered for the greatness of his work, unless someone somewhere knows something I don't. As a fan of Cartoonist Kayfabe, I say we have the right to know. Rugg (or someone at the CK channel) has continued to release their backlog of videos, which is in line with Piskor's final requests, but have any of his other complaints been addressed? His work ensures he will never be forgotten, but what has been done to redress the atrocious series of events leading up to his suicide?

Only seen part and a fantastic video, love anything standing there for Ed. Cant wait for the whole thing edit - on the meeting Ed thing I am 90 percent sure I saw him once while listening to the podcast of Kayfabe and I just thought "It cant be". When I posted ages later to Kayfabe about it, Ed posted back saying like "Who knows, next time would love to hook up" when I had already moved down to Hiroshima where we have a small manga library. Now I cant help but think it was the man himself.

The kayfabe effect, for me, was going from enjoying and loving comics to seeing all the dimensions at work, when they work. My artwork improved almost as much as my newfound enjoyment reading over all my oldies after learning what I have from kayfabe.
