"I first worked with Francis Matthews in the 1980's when we recorded a national radio promotion for the launch of Captain Scarlet on VHS. His playful Cary Grant imitation had made the Captain into a long-running sensation and no one could mistake him on air. Cut to a handful of decades later and I had the great privilege of being invited to his home, this time to film an interview which would feature on our release of the Paul Temple television series for the first time on DVD. Francis was happy to talk about the making of that series and gave generously of his time. He was a consummate professional and a real national treasure, famous for his appearances on radio, stage, screen, television... and Morecambe and Wise. The Paul Temple TV series captures a very important string on his bow, and one we can continue to enjoy to this day."
