James Hunt lived more in 45 years than many could do in 10 lifetime's.

God bless you Mika and Freddie. Happy Easter to you. I hope to see you at McLaren in the near future Freddie. Mika, you're always a great source of inspiration.

Mika had the same presence of mind to shift the interview or the situation into another direction, same here as during that Monza press conference where Michael got too emotional to speak, same here with Freddie. Mika instantly recognised that things got too emotional and he initiated the shift onto something else instead. Very good on Mika's part, big respect. I guess it's a northern european thing, it's bottling up emotions rather than letting them out. I can relate

Wonderful to see this. I do hope that James Hunt’s son is able to gain insight into what his father was like thru these interviews. Certainly he loved his son very much and was taken from his life much too soon. We all miss him.

In this day and age James Hunt would dominate. They basically run automatic transmissions now, he can just concentrate on where the best place to put the car for the best time

OK, don't take this the wrong way, as I followed Hunt from the time he began F1 through his career, and am a huge fan. But on what planet does Hunt become a professional Marlboro mentor to young drivers so they can become better professionals, LOL?
@jakesanders17283 жыл бұрын
It is fair to say that James wasn’t the most professional driver throughout his career. But he had invaluable experience and was a world champion. So I’m sure young drivers would of had a lot to learn from him and a lot of questions which he could of answered.

Honestly I think the partying and acting like he was carefree was his coping mechanism and a way to run away from his stress. He'd take have a couple drinks and some weed before a race to calm his nerves
