I was hanging out with a bunch of friends in a pizza/beer place for Game 7 in 2009 and a handful of strangers who had also congregated to watch the game. The end of the game was like the archer's paradox -- every moment left seemed to take twice as long as the last -- but that last minute or so is burned into my brain forever. All the stoppages. We're all standing in the pizza parlor, glasses of beer empty but everyone too nervous to miss anything to get a refill. That last second save by Flower on Lidstrom. The buzzer sounds. The team celebrates. We celebrate in the pizza place. I'm hugging friends. I'm hugging complete strangers. It was just...it was a moment I'll never forget.

2009 was the best year ever for my favorite sports teams. Steelers won superbowl in Feb of 09, penguins won the stanley cup, lakers won the nba championship and North Carolina tar heels won the ncaa basketball national championship. I watched most of the pens-wings series with my buddy. I remember the pens lost game 5 and my buddy saying they're going to lose to the wings again. I said it's never over until it's over. They go on and win games 6 and 7 and the stanley cup is in pittsburgh for the 3rd time

I was at a friends house with a bunch of people watching Game 7 in 2009, and the moment after Fleury made the big save against Lidstrom we all jumped up excited and then when the buzzer sounded and the players started celebrating, we all jumped up, screaming, high-5ing and hugging. For me though, the 2016 Cup year and run was my favorite, because it was both such a dominant run and redemptive in the same breath. Like you guys said, it was frustrating and a little scary watching them flop in the playoffs year and after year and to finally get that second one for the Core after they were rumored to be run out of town soon. So watching them win that year was so relieving and vindicating for them.

Not gna lie i cried when we won in 2009. I had been waiting since 1993 for Pittsburgh to win that 3rd Cup. There was so much talk about the team leaving town even after drafting Crosby. When they won it felt like such a sense of accomplishment for Pittsburgh fans. Also shed a tear of joy when Sid passed the Cup to Mario at Joe Louis Arena.

Fun Fact: Penguins lost in 08 when i was at my house, I then go to my grandparents' for the summer the following year, Penguins win the cup. I stay at home during the 2013 run, whoopdeedoo. Stay the week with my grandparents both '16 and '17, wuhdyaknow?? I think it's safe to say I should probably visit them more often lmao

You guys both make me feel really old with your HS graduation yrs. I remember the 91 & 92 cups 😂 What are your thoughts on if the Pens tried to trade for Mathieu Joseph. Could add nicely to bottom 6 & if they added Domi your team has much more gravel /sandpaper & it's not breaking the bank. Duclair would be fantastic in Pittsburgh. His game fits what the Pens want to do and he would look really nice next to Sid and Rust. And lastly, who on the current roster would you like to see on the top PP next season? I think O'Connor would become a 20 goal guy if given 1st unit PP time all season. This fluff on the PP has to go away. Great show as always

Joseph would be interesting, he can at least score and bring some sort of sandpaper. I think DOC will definitely get more PP time next year but still think the main five will be something like Crosby, Malkin, Karlsson, Rust and Bunting
