Well maybe a little research will open your eyes to a lot of atrocities that you never heard about. There’s a very big difference in his-story and history. His-story gives us a white point of view when it comes to the history of this country. History, tells us what really happened. When the cover is pulled back to reveal the truth about Amerikkka, it’s not a pretty picture. At all.

@@norshstephens2395 ...And this is why I believe they work so hard to hide the history our this country as it pertains to people of color. Incidents like these aren't talked about much, black people invented many things in America but yet it isn't talked about or in any school book. It is omitted from our history. You wonder why things haven't changed?....because in reality the oppressors never realized there wrong doing and continues carrying out the same way they have countless years.

My family moved from Europe to Georgia in 1968. The conversations ( at school) were that students needed to keep separate, according to color, so “ no one would get hurt”. The whitewashing of the the news and gross misinformation lead to such fear and instability in our school and neighborhood. When watching this information, I am thinking-back and putting the puzzle pieces of my memory together. Uncomfortable. Thank you Democracy Now for the truth and excellent journalism.

Yes I remember all of this, horrible! but young people forget or never learned that change happened by all colors working together. This was MLK's message. Rich people of every color are doing just fine, a perversion of justice & equality. Green in your pocket will get you the finest room in Trump hotels, the only color that matters more than skin tone. Is this progress? Poverty is the common denominator to unite all of us white or mixed or black or brown in US - why can't people see that greed is the enemy & economic inequality is sword that is killing most of us? Get angry at billionaires! More than ever we need to unite.

@Michelle W for the record I long ago educated myself about my history. Many of the atrocities against black folks in this country was suppressed. Things like George Washington was a slave owner, Tulsa massacre, Central Park belong to black folks and on and on were hidden. Just like YOU people want to continue to suppress the true history of the US. Now Biden has done some things that were detrimental to blacks in the past, but does that excuse the many things Donald Drumpf has done presently to black people. He is an open racist but because he says things that you like it's OK. Look up President LBJs take on poor white folks vs educated black folks and get back to me. You cannot compare notes with me young man. Go back to your mom's basement, stay on drumpf websites and buy another set of his NFTs.😀

This is the first I have heard of this history being that true history isn't taught in most public schools. I would not oppose a ban on history being taught on personal convictions until the age of consent due to the fact that it has the potential to cause great emotional and psychological suffering, also homocidal and suicidal ideations. I do however embrace sex education as children are curious and want to know all they can know as it is also of personal interest while they are discovering their own ideas, thoughts, feelings, and desires. Most children had only the honesty of animals expressing sexuality to them and adults teaching lies and fantasy about history. There should be honest non-shamimg, guilt free, and fear free sex education for young people so they are better able to understand themselves and others, to also develop a tolerance and acceptance of the diversity of human sexuality, personal variation, and cultural differentiation. History is what should fall under parental guidance. It resembles such gross, cruel, and hideous personifications of individuals and groups of individuals who acted and spoke in ways that are and were profoundly inhuman. Monsters whose contribution to society and humanity was and is a nightmare. It is history which is dirty and not sex. The dirty adult section of viewing and reading section should be the restricted area where the history is kept. Young people should not be ignorant of history, nor should they be lied to about it, but they should be of a mature age to be able to discern about how much trauma they can comfortably absorb before it starts to negatively impact their physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual being. History's unending theme has at it's core, decided upon by mainly adults, heartache, heart break, cruelty, barbarism, intolerable suffering, injustice, indifference, merciless cruelty, starvation, torture, imprisonment, isolation, and executions. Humanities victory over the dark forces is always a great ending to a horrible story, but it is the horror which takes up the bulk of the story, which takes nerves of steel and a cast iron gut to get through. Some bleed blue and remain unfazed by any of it. Most people bleed red and some of these can not stomach what has taken place and are confounded by the very notion of humanity or intelligence.

There are several massacres that happened where black people were murdered but America has a tendency to hide these things because it doesn't fit the false image they want their citizens and the rest of the world to see.

@@ninaj.4885 Oh I know about some of the other massacres but this one I had not heard of. Yes Europeans no matter where they are commit Massacres. In the UK they committed their atrocities overseas so they can look askance at other countries. Just read their history in Africa.

Such a devastating, horrific tragedy… (Like many others like it) Praying for all who endured this type of SICK, racist, MONSTROUS CRUELTY & VIOLENCE caused by the IGNORANT, RACIST white-supremacy in our history & present day!!💔 This behavior & twisted way of thinking is utterly disgusting & the most ignorant thing I’ve heard of or ever seen.. Thank you for sharing all the factual history that was/still is left out of our history books!!.. 🙏❤️🙏

Much of the civil rights history of SC is back page overall because the hotbed protests were Ms,Al,Ga, there were sit-ins and protests in Rock Hill,SC, the Friendship 9 and the now defunct Friendship College yard is a memorial family picnic place.
