It's a humble offering to Sangeetacharya Vishmadeb Chattopadhyay by Kolkatasaga. Vishmadeb was one of the greatest musicians of Kolkata or rather India. The outstanding vocalist of Indian Classical Music also captivated the audience with his Khayal, thumri, bengali raagpradhan songs, and his unique harmonium playing style. He served as the director and trainer at megaphone company. Worked as the music composer in twelve hindi and bengali movies under the banner of Film corporation. He was closely associated with Kaji Nazrul Islam. He received talim from Khalifa Badal Khan Sahab. As guru Vishmadeb Chattopadhyay nurtured many stalwarts like Chhaya debi, Kanan Debi, S.D.Burman, Lily Chakrabarty, Juthika Roy, Rabin Chattopadhyay, Suresh Chakrabarty, Rajkumar Shyamananda Sing and many more. Pt Radhika Mohan Maitra, Ustad Mustaq Ali Khan were some of his very close friends.

Sri Jayanta Chattopadhyay himself interviewed Bratati Debi, the elder sister of the legendary filmmaker, Sri Ritwik Ghatak at Pondicherry.

Thanks lot for sharing the video. Yes, we the Bengalis be proud since we had a singer like Vismadeb Chattopadhyay. Instead, we are I'll fated since we failed to pay the proper respect he deserved. Same thing happened regarding Jnanendra Prasad Goswami. Moreover, he died early and his death is still a puzzle.

Very glad to come across this piece. I Grew up with Vishwadev's songs. There will be no one like him. Also, I was happy to know the son helps artists that have fallen into difficult times. When I go to Kolkata, I would like to visit him and contribute

মনে হয় পুরনো কলকাতার সেই ঐতিহ্য উনবিংশ এবং বিংশ শতাব্দীর প্রথমার্ধ যেন হাত ধরাধরি করে একসাথে চলে আসে। সে গেছে এক দিন। এমন সঙ্গীত প্রতিভা আর ফিরে আসবে না!
