MY MISTAKE I LOAD IT FIRST AND INSERT NAIL LATER VERY DANGERIOUS
Powder Actuated Fastening Tool Shot Strength Test video is about Performing a shot strength test on a powder-actuated fastening tool is an important safety step to ensure that the tool is functioning properly and is safe to use. Here are the steps to perform a shot strength test on a powder-actuated fastening tool: Remington 476
Check the tool: Make sure the tool is clean and in good working order before performing the shot strength test. Also, check that the correct powder load and fastener size are being used.
Prepare the test material: Set up a piece of test material, such as a piece of wood or concrete, in a secure location. Ensure that the test material is the same thickness as the material being fastened.
Load the tool: Load the tool with a powder load and a fastener of the appropriate size and type for the test material.
Test fire the tool: Fire the tool into the test material at a safe distance. Inspect the resulting hole to ensure that it is the correct size and depth for the fastener being used.
Measure the embedment depth: Use a caliper or depth gauge to measure the depth of the hole that was created by the fastener. Compare this measurement to the recommended embedment depth for the fastener being used. If the depth is too shallow or too deep, adjust the tool or the fastener as necessary.
Inspect the fastener: Examine the fastener to ensure that it has been properly driven and that the head is flush with the surface of the test material. Check for any signs of damage or deformation to the fastener or the tool.
Repeat the test: Perform the shot strength test on several more test materials, using different powder loads and fasteners to test the range of the tool's capabilities.
By following these steps, you can perform a shot strength test on a powder-actuated fastening tool to ensure that it is functioning properly and is safe to use. Be sure to follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by the tool manufacturer, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during the testing process.

I did a similar test nailing together two 2x4" boards to make a 4x4" inch board using a 3" fastener nail. I got similar results. The number 3 load left about 3/8" of nail sticking out (i.e., wasted). But the number 4 load sunk the nail completely with the washer perfectly stopping over penetration into the wood.

Actually i have been on job where the mortar just shattered. Walls moving freely after ram set. To fix this I learned when i was young from my grandfather to drill a hole and use 3-4 pieces of black steel wire put them in the hole and hammer a sinker. Once that nail is sink squeezing those steel wire it's going nowhere.

I have no idea what you mean by 3-4 cut of steel wire. They sell concrete anchor: drill a hole and put them in there. They sell concrete screw (blue tapon). Drill a hole and screw them in. You have to write one more sentence so people actually understand what you mean.

@@SSintox ok you drill a hole that is the same size of a framing nail. you cut 3-4 pieces of black steel wire about 4 inch you put them in the hole. then you take that framing nail and you hammer it home. it will never come out. its the oldest trick in the book and more durable than any other product.

poor demo as didn't mention the reason for the color coded load differences adequately to the uninitiated and in the first discharge he loaded the powdered load first then the nail with his hand/fingers over the gun nozzle while pushing the shank up near the load!! dangerous

I wouldn't say poor. I found it helpful indeed. It was a great starter. Thank you @bababuilder. Sorry about the bored, critical people in the world with nothing better to do than insult peoples work. I don't see @dgim8016 shooting a video on Ramsets, so yours is 100% better than the video he never shot. And, as with anything in DIY construction, no one is going to watch just one video and go straight to it (hopefully). Due diligence requires us to check out a few videos, perhaps have some convos with some people who've used them, maybe explore some "How to" forums or literature on the topic and then take the best points from each and apply it to what you're doing. In fact my Ramset is identical to the one in the video, and it set me at ease (Yes, I was a bit anxious digging out this tool and using it) watching you handle it casually and doing so in sandals. Yes, yes, everyone's gonna reply with safety first, yada, yada, yada, and sure, I agree, but it did make me less anxious that he wasn't crapping himself handling it, loading it, and striking it. So thanks again @bababuilder, you rock man!
