Thanks, I fixed a VPG-6530 head which has a slightly different housing but the internals are similar enough that this helped tremendously to show how the spring sits. The open ends don't slot into anything on this model, they are just held into the grooves by spring tension which is maintained by the metal face plate. So you need to make sure to hold it on while you screw in the two screws.

You pry the tip apart by levering a blunt onbect in the 1/2" opening and gently lever it open. Do NOT stick a blade in the slots as shown on this video.
