I tried remixing “Battle! Rival” from Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal & Heart Gold/Soul Silver.

Silvers theme was always sad and tragic, its so nice to hear a slightly more upbeat version of it.

when the violin hits i'd call it an upbeat sad, cause it seems sad but with a sense of direction.

The violin I think is pretty fitting for Silver as a rival. He's more of a tragic anti-hero kind of rival compared to your rivals in other games, which the violin fits well with.

One of my all time favorite rival themes next to Hugh's and Brendan/May's! Barry, Gladion and Cheren/Biancas theme is pretty good too!

Yeah, their remixes tend to change the key signature of songs. It's off-putting most of the time, but the remixes still sound good. It's not a nitpick, but it doesn't matter all that much, either.

If you don't mind it a tad slower, I do like listening to it at 0.95x speed for that key signature.

can you remix even if you forget me from pokemon mystery dungeon gates to infinity? it's my favorite song in the game and there are no remixes of it yet
