Күн бұрынVladivostok, Russia - From Ulan-Ude, we took our final Trans-Siberian Railway ride to Vladivostok; a long three-day Russia Travel adventure!
After an amazing few days in the Buryatia region; it was time to explore Vladivostok and the far east Russian region of Primorsky Krai.
We spent the morning taking a Vladivostok walking tour, meeting with the Primorsky Krai tourism board, and talking to Russian media outlets about our 25-day Trans-Siberian Railway journey.
From Vladivostok, Yaro had one more surprise for us; a camping trip to the outskirts of Primorsky Krai on the border of North Korea and China!
We spent two days exploring the region; complete with old Soviet military stations and the Gamow Lighthouse.
The Gamow Lighthouse is located on one of the most beautiful coastlines I've seen anywhere.
After an amazing remote beach camping trip in Primorsky Krai, it was time to head back to Vladivostok for our final night!
We had a great dinner and then celebrated the end of our trip with too many drinks at Shamora.
This Russian Travel Experience on the Trans-Siberian Railway is something I will remember forever!!

Guys, I have written this to you before, but it's worth repeating. Watching your videos makes it so embarrassingly clear how politicians and certain media have portrayed Russia in such a narrow and dark manner. I have never been there myself, but I urge to really get there and discover that amazingly beautiful country. The nature shots in your videos blow me away! You should all get a medal of honor for bringing down barriers and opening up the curiosity in people from all over the world. This is the way to address conflicts. This is the way to show we don't need to fear each other. This is the way to get along. Respect and love to you all for this fantastic series! Когда ты приезжаешь в Россию из Швеции или США, с американским или шведским паспортом, с шведской или американской зарплатой, и можешь уехать обратно домой это именно так и выглядит. Радужно, счастливо и красиво. Но когда ты рождаешься в Саратове, Улан-Удэ, живёшь в нём всю жизнь - это совсем другие чувства. Когда ты иностранец, наши сограждане (я живу в Саратовской области) тебе всегда будут хорошо относиться и радостно встречать, но это лишь потому, что ты иностранец. When you come to Russia from Sweden or the USA, with an American or Swedish passport, with a Swedish or American salary, and you can go back home, it just looks like that. Happy and beautiful. But when you are born in Saratov, Ulan-Ude, you live in it all your life - these are completely different feelings. When you are a foreigner, our fellow citizens (I live in the Saratov region) will always be nice to you and meet you joyfully, but this is only because you are a foreigner. Unfortunately, the author did not show the real Russia. This Russia, which I and another 20 million people see every day, leaving our Khrushchevkas (20 million are just so many poor people in Russia, this is 14% of the population. And this is just official information)

@Sam K Да, но в Лос-Анджелес едут жить люди со всего мира, в том числе и из России. В отличии от Саратова, Омска и Новосибирска, куда едут только мигранты из Казахстана, Таджикистана, Узбекистана и других азиатских помоек. И да, я лучше жил бы в Лос-Анжелесе, чем в Саратове, Москве или любом другом русском городе. И мне кажется, я не один такой. Вы не задумывались, почему в России так мало бомжей, в отличии от других развитых стран? Лет 10-15 назад у нас в Саратове их было очень много, например у меня, в моём доме между 8 и 9 этажом жил туберкулёзный бомж. В отличии от американских бомжей, у которых есть социальные пособия в размере 500 долларов и огромное количество приютов, социальных столовых и тд, в России все бездомные просто умерли. И вот вам простая статистика. По заявлению Министерства Внутренних дел России, численность бездомных в стране колеблется от 1 до 5 млн человек. В 2018 году Министерство жилищного строительства и городского развития США сообщило о 552,830 бездомных, проживающих на территории Соединенных Штатов. Количество примерно одинаковое, однако в США население в два раза больше, чем в России, в США более развиты социальные службы и климат в той же Калифорнии более приятный, чем в 95% Российских городов. As an American who lives and works in Primorsky Krai, I have to say that this region is incredibly beautiful. I particularly like hiking near Chistovodnoye at a place called "Park Drakon". I also enjoy the beaches in the Khasansky region. Great video! It's cool to see so many familiar places! I also enjoy partying near the seaside in the same place you showed at the end of the video...I was there just last night, in fact! I also ate at Alaska Grill and Bar last Thursday night!

Gareth I watched all of your Russian series in one breath. It's absolutely awesome what you and your team did during this journey. You have opened Russia for all people around the world from other side without any stereotypes and so on. Next time I would recommend you to go across Russia by another route from the North to the South , from Murmansk to Mahachkala, from the Barents sea to the Caspian sea, from the northern tundra to the caucasian mountains. It would be a great experience. Spasibo!

Plambir is actually very different from vannila(Plambir contains egg yolk and it doesnt use vannila beans so its technicly not vannila at all) I am sure you can taste the egg!

@@GarethLeonard In that one there was vanillin. True, it is added everywhere, it is difficult to avoid. The chip of this ice cream is egg yolks and fat cream. Personally, I thought condensed milk was also used there. And even read about it somewhere.

I would never guess that area would be so stunningly beautiful. It is untouched earth, nice and green and I bet the air is beyond fresh. It looks like a place you would see a battle scene out of the show Vikings. I am blown away by how nice it is.

I worked as a product manager for ice cream producer in Russia, and I should say that most Russians don't understand what "plombir" actually means. In colloquial language, we use "plombir" as a common name for vanilla ice cream or "white" ice cream. However, officially "plombir" is a certain type of ice cream recipe that contains only animal fat from milk and butter and 12% or more of fat. Then we have "cream ice cream" (lol) which is the same but with 5%-12% of fat, and "milk ice cream" that contains less than 5% of fat. So in fact "plombir" has nothing to do with the flavor, it can be "vanilla plombir", "chocolate plombir" or "cranberry plombir". But again, most people don't know that :) In your next trip to Russia I highly recommend you try "creme brullee plombir", which is a unique soviet recipe, the ice cream mix is baked for 8 hours to form a soft caramel-like taste. It is awesome and truly local. Stay safe XO

@@homuchoghoma6789 какой классный ролик и канал. Не видела, спасибо =) Эх, помню как строили, какие были пробищи, сколько было неудобства. Помню как зимой без освещения по трассе домой по льду на машине =) Утром одна обочина, вечером другая, едешь и не знаешь где дорога заканчивается. Вот прямо стоит сейчас перед глазами седанкинский спуск, на нем особенно страшно было. И всё это в темноте. Но ведь построили!

@@AndreiBerezin Живу в Хабаровске, но родом с запада, гонял во Владивосток по работе и отдыху, любой вменяемый человек скажет , что Владик в разы лучше

@@FarEastUnited чем? Ни одного архитектурного ансамбля, незасранного в последние десятилетия. Беспорядочная застройка сопок свечками. Деградация общ. транспорта, бардак с парковкой - запарковано вообще все. Пляжи засраны. Через центр захуячен неебический проспект, который всегда стояком. Прямо под окнами у жителей, даже тротуара не видно. Как можно было такие сопки и бухты так засрать.

Я уже молчу что любые торговые сети сначала открываются во Владике, а потом уже в Хабаре

@@FarEastUnited чувак, я вообще из Сибири, в Хабе был туристом, во Владик гонял просто посмотреть. То есть твои ответки - они мимо меня. Я лишь был удивлён, насколько паршив Владик в реале по ср. с его образом в медиа. Должное кол-во парковок - это миф, их должно быть ещё меньше, как собственно и тачек, а горожане обязаны в основной массе вернуться в общ. транспорт. Это касается всех городов, но Владик ушёл от идеала дальше всех, он просто ужасен своим засилием тачек, невозможно передвигаться. ДВФУ выстроен идиотами по книжкам 70х годов. Среды для пешеходов попросту нет. Хабаровск при всех минусах показался мне раем по сравнению с этой никчемной бурлящей дырой.

Ahhhh. It’s so cool to see a touch of Asian in Russia. I thought I was a foodie but seeing the food you eat around the world makes me realize idk so much. Wish I can travel as much as you do!

Well basically, geographically they are in Asia. Vladivostok is in Asia, the far east of Russia is Asia.

Thanks for this content. I am from Moscow and watched all the series with extraordinary interest. Media and politicians paint the picture that benefits them. But the reality is different. I am deeply grateful and I wish you Gareth to move only forward and inspire others to such travels, stories. I wish everyone knew true happiness and wish sincerely enjoy every moment in life. Vladivostok is amazing! Haven’t been there for ages, but still love it 😍 P.S. The “plombir” ice-cream is supposed to have a very rich and intense milky flavor, because it is made from natural cow milk. It really differs from regular vanilla ice-cream. To my taste, the brand you tried is not the best one😏

It's pity you didn't have a chance to go to Russki Island to the south of Vladivostok. The bridge, university campus, the oceanarium - definitely worth a visit.

Vladivostok looks like a really cool city and again great architecture and fabulous bridges. Night life and restaurants look great also. Being ex Royal Navy I would find this place fascinating-I’m coming over when I can -live in New Zealand now so pretty long trip but we’ll worth it I reckon. Will travel on the trans Siberian all being well in the world. Great series thanks to you lads.

Speaking of motherland, truth is after Colonizing Eastern Europe, and Siberia, and then Far-East Asia, and then all the way to Alaska; Russia's next step plan was to Colonize today's U.S. West coast. In fact, Russians were already stationing all over West Coast, from Washington State to California. But their final Colonization plan flip flopped and they have to retreat, back to Alaska, which eventually was sold, disregard to the fact that indigenous Native people are the one who actually own the land. All these patterns are nothing short of disingenious behaviors, which show plain true fact that 'Russia ain't no saint' at all. In other words, ginormously huge mother Russia, after all, is a wolf wearing a sheep's mask and playing victim'. Remember, Slavery, Colonialism and Colonization are evil things done by evildoers. thanks a lot for this great series. its eye-opening for russians as well, cause the country is so big we dont see a lot of it ourselves. And i must say, u as a central piece of the series were crucial for its impact. The charisma, the open-mind, the eagerness to learn and embrace - it was very important. Знаешь, я англичанин и только сейчас понял, что когда я говорю по-русски я всегда говорю Владивосто́к но если я говорю по-английски я всегда говорю Vladivóstok хотя знаю, что это неправильное ударение. Мне кажется, что в английском языке ударение никогда не падает на последний слог в таком длинном слове и поэтому нам кажется как-то странным.
