If you come here and watch the video, I hope you read the comments first, because this method works best if no one has sat on it for a long time, which is pretty much impossible. I also tried this, but apart from smashing the outer part of the gas lift, nothing happened. BUT the solution is much simpler! The chair must be taken apart into 2 parts: the seat iron and star legs are needed, only the sitting part is not. You have to spray the joint point with WD40 and let it stand for a few hours (I sprayed it for 2 days but it was unnecessary to use it, but I went for sure) and then support it on a table that is as stable as possible so that the star leg is stretched against the table, the seat iron is at the bottom and you have to round it nicely with a hammer to knock You have to put some force into it, but it's out in a maximum of 1 minute and doesn't damage the gas spring.

Agreed, the strut from the base removal is optimistic at best. Remove the seat then take the base to a strong bench, put 2 arms and the centre ring (upside down) on the edge of the bench. Small lump of wood that covers the end of the gas strut and hit with a lump hammer hard

На самом деле, такой демонтаж возможен, если кресло только что собрали и на нем никто не сидел. Если на кресле посидел человек хотя бы несколько дней, особенно, если вес человека под 100 кг и более, то нескольких легких ударов резиновой киянки будет недостаточно, бить придется много, сильно и аккуратно. Если крестовина литая, алюминиевая, или литая пластиковая, а поверхность газ патрона черная, это полбеды, и после 10-15 мощных прицельных ударов получится добиться успеха, если поверхность газлифта хромированная, а крестовина стальная, и сидели на этом кресле не один месяц, то киянкой выбить газ-патрон из крестовины практически не возможно.
