This is how to remove a door handle / knob without visible screws. This is also a very common style of door lock and many people don't know how to remove them so they end up damaging the door or the hardware while trying to remove it. I have previously shown you how to remove other styles of door handles / knobs and although this style is different Its actually very simple to do you just need to know one thing........

There is also a similar Kwikset knob that has the same opening but you need to use a very small allen wrench to remove the set screw.

I preffer the term torx for that and guess what, my bit was to small 😂

I've been working at a body shop for a bit now and extra tips I learned was if you're painting the door, it's better to take off the mirror and belt molding (the trim at the bottom of the window) for a better paint job in the end. The mirror can get in the way, and if you're unlucky, the clear coat could stick in that gap between the door and the belt molding.

My guess is that once you’ve done it a few times, it goes a lot easier. I’m not sure about the one at work because I am having no luck finding the brass pin inside that small hole. Maybe ours has that Kwicklock style that someone else mentioned. The one we have is for the public washroom and the whole thing is looser than it used to be. The key needs to be tried between 2-10 times to get it to open. The boss says it needs WD40 and I say WD40 disperses water and that’s not the issue here. He also claims it’s because it’s getting colder, anything so the handle or lock doesn’t have to be replaced. Is this door handle toast or can it be fixed somehow?

I found silicone wedged inside the small hole 😩 I picked it off but I’m afraid it’s inside the cover around the pin and it won’t move, any suggestions?

Great video as it's my first time putting in new door handles on my doors, but my old handle does not have that tiny hole, it has a somewhat of a hole but is solid that nothing can get thru , so I pried the cover off but it's doesn't come off , I see the screws but cannot get to them cause the plates are in the way ugh 😫

Hi Bill, I'm curious about your usage of impact driver to remove n rescrew pan head screws. Is that your personal preference or is there some advantage? I only use impact driver for tek screws. Normal drill for everything else. But I'm also an amateur in this field. Please share your wisdom. Thanks.

I’m locked out of my storage unit, how did I do it then? Please and thank you because I’ve told my landlord a hundred times and he’s keeps saying he’s going to take it off but he’s taking his time while I can’t get to my items. So what can you do if the latch is stuck ? I have a door where the knobs been removed once before and put back on, now the pin won't depress the latch and the handle won't slide off so I'm thinking just straight cut the handle off as I'm replacing the door handle anyway

So, how about a commercial lever with a removable chamber/lock which comes out easily with a 45’ turn of the key and a nail punch in the hole. Now I’m left with the handle, base plates on both sides and NO screws. I’ve been a carpenter for 25 years and I have never met a door handle I couldn’t remove/install but this effing thing won today. I have to tackle it again on Monday so I have the weekend to figure it out. Or tell them to buy a NEW ONE TO INSTALL 😁

Does the door need to be open? Mine is jammed shut somebody kicked it in and the latch it was bent and the door got shut so I can't open the door from the inside or out. Please help
