In this episode I tackle cleaning this 28 year old engine and whilst this 1995 Seadoo XP 717 is a very clean example, the engine bay was particularly dirty after sitting for over 10 years in storage. I cover how I tackle cleaning these old engines...oh and well...I decide to take the engine out, as I wasn't satisfied with not being able to clean right under the engine.... so at this point I may have opened a can of worms and well now, I really am committed to a full transformation. Stay tuned to see what I do to take this already super clean ski, to the next level... by the time we are done, this will look like a 2023 XP! Be sure to watch this video and episode 5, as they will cover two parts to this clean.

Change the old tempo fuel lines, they creat a green go inside and clog the carbs.

Looks real clean nice job. I've just got one the same and also as good condition but I don't know alot about them. Can you tell me if you pre mix the fuel, is the oil tank just engine oil or is it stroke you put in there ? Thanks and keep up the good work 👍

Thanks dude, really appreciate that 🙏 congrats on your clean example 💪🏻 I don’t run premix as I like to keep my machine completely OEM and not a fan of oil deletes… yes I understand the logic of safe guarding against oil pump failure, but in my experience everyone I know that has premix always get inconsistency in their ratios and never runs as good as the factory pump setup… I’ve never understood why people aren’t just more on it with consistently checking their pump on both the oil and fuel… same goes with everything else for that matter. In short, do what you feel comfortable with, but don’t be scared into a premix setup… there is a lot of scaremongering online. Thanks for watching and supporting 🙏

Hey, i have a waveblaster 760 and the HIN number om the rear deck has fallen off. Is there any other places with this number on the ski?

Pretty sure under the hood, at the front right edge. If not potentially on the engine somewhere dude...it will 100% have a second marking somewhere though. Thanks for watching 🙌

Good video. I mean you removed the engine, you may as well remove the gas and oil tanks and clean under them and clean them as well.. Does it still have the original grey fuel lines? Should replace those asap. And i saw it still had the original oil injection lines, make sure you replace them and that filter. I would go ahead and replace all the oil and water lines too. Do you have an engine alignment tool for putting the engine back in straight??

The tanks were both taken out and cleaned under and also fully cleaned...you can see at the end of the video. This video was filmed a couple of weeks ago, all lines have been changed, carb cleaned, new engine mounts to be safe, I have even marine clear coated the inner fiberglass to minimise future dirt etc sitting into the fiberglass... Its going to look showroom ready by the time Its done.... one of my friends even sent me a link to a brand new OEM original non dess green float key so this really will be a time piece when its done... the top deck was already really clean, now I have sorted the engine bay its as close to new as you will get! Thanks for watching

@@classicjetskis ok sweet. Surprised you didnt mention that in the video and show some video footage of the clean front area afterwards. Love your videos

@@GCEXTREMEMN I've got to be honest I have been focusing on speeding the pacing of my videos up based on KZfaq and viewer watch retention... some of my older videos I show everything... it was super hard even with this edit as I had way way more content that I could of kept in, but my focus is max content shorter watch time, therefore some stuff has to be cut out. Also with the front tank it's not the best footage as its an awkward area to film cleaning, plus there is only so much power washing people wanna watch😂😂 .... Rest assured in the next episode when you see everything come together, its insane! I have even cleaned and coated the dirty polystyrene and then marine sealed them... honestly looks new! Thanks for watching dude

You better get rid of all those gray oil lines that selector valve and rebuild that carburetor before you do any cleaning

Keep watching my friend, keep watching... there are more episodes in this series... the final video shows it all done, with of course brand new lines throughout, including a new fuel tank, oil tank... Carb was rebuilt, new engine mounts, seal and so on... Thanks for watching 👌
