Jason is a very humble man & makes that look easy b/c's very slick! All that you have to watch is his use of the circular saw and the cuts, to know this guy knows what he's doing.

No need to cut tongue off replacement board just the bottom of the grove off. Replacement board cut to size by cutting off the tongue side of the board and remove bottom grove. Use a nail puller or table saw to take off bottom grove.

I need to do this to a hardwood floor with no subfloor. Will 2 tiny spots of glue on the joists and 4 finish nails suffice to hold it, or should I span a few joists to give more surface adhesion and nailing strength?

@tedcook1032
@tedcook1032 5 жыл бұрын
It depends on if the boards are click together, or glued. With click you have to start at one side and uninstall the floor until you get to the board that needs replaced. A glued board is a bit more of a challenge, as you will need to acquire a router bit the size of the groove side. After routing out the glue, re-install the new board.

Hey thanks for sharing your trade secret. Lol I have a house that was built in like 1964 pine hardwood floors each plank is about 2 1/4 2 1/2 inches.
