So, here it is 3 yrs later and I found your tip and applied it and worked like a charm, thank you. Though on a C4 Corvette, it is a circus scenario. I applied needle nose vise grips beforehand and applied the heat and worked it out. As tight as the getting in with the torch is, I was afraid to lose the heat before I could get the pliers on it again. Plus I didn't want to get it too hot for the plastic casing it runs into and the wire casing. Hopefully this helps someone else out with a C4 Vette and may be afraid to try this. Just make sure you remove the connecting line completely to remove interference.
