The 2011 Ferrari 599 SA Aperta is a very rare model limited to only 80 cars worldwide and powered by the Ferrari 599 GTO engine. The limited production of just 80 models was in homage to the 80th Anniversary of Pininfarina. The car has only continued to appreciate in value with another SA Aperta selling 3 years ago at RM Sotheby's auction for $1,182,500! If I had to guess I would say they are worth over $1.5 million USD now.
This car is meant to be enjoyed as a roadster with no roof but Ferrari did provide a very basic soft top for emergency situations and very few cars were ordered with a removable carbon fiber hardtop. Both tops are extremely expensive. Removing the soft top is very quick with just 2 latches at the front but it looks like it is somewhat of a headache once you get it off. The owner of this car bought a large velcro strap to wrap around the top so it doesn't bounce around in the trunk and cause any damage to itself.
Regardless of the "roof" and how it is somewhat of a joke like the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster soft tops I really respect the owner for driving and enjoying his extremely rare Ferrari SA Aperta!
