Nah, I think what she is saying that the BR's that's ONLY relying on YT and not the marketing that they have to do and the draw they are supposed to have, then it doesn't pan out. A good example is A ward. He's good BUT Aye Verb promoted the hell out of that battle that's why we watched. Now, A ward is solid but does he promote enough to sell a PPV? Is he considered a "top card" artist? There has to be marketing and promotion inside and to a point outside of BR. ARP discussed that too as far as ticket sells and PPV sells versus what the battle rapper want.

It's an interesting issue - br's content is almost guaranteed to get demonitized on yt, but the accessibility opens a door for sponsors that URL only has access to because of its name brand. The company was able to sustain that while Caffeine was streaming their battles for free, but now that you have to pay to watch anything new from URL, I question how long it'll be able to survive without a change in its distribution model. Could be why Chess v Rex got a yt drop so quickly, although I do think the Rushmore dudes have been getting deals that include them anyway (Geechi v Lux, Mook v Roc, and I think one of the Hollow battles, from memory, got yt drops, but weeks after the events), so not sure. But once you introduce any fiction - like a paywall or putting the battles on platforms we don't typically watch battles on - to access a product available online, you're putting a ceiling on it, so it's gonna be interesting to see where URL goes from here The thing about Shorts is a fair point, but I think that's just something br needs to adapt to. IBattle has been pushing Shorts, and we all come away from battles quoting one bar or one pocket, so I think br is conducive to Shorts anyway and it's prob a good idea for more leagues to experiment with them. Sticking to the old-school format of just dropping a battle and expecting revenue is def a losing strategy
