Actor Renée Zellweger joins TODAY in Studio 1A to talk about the process of transforming into Pam Hupp for the crime drama “The Thing About Pam,” inspired by a saga covered on Dateline. She also talks about her return to the spotlight after taking time away. “I needed to step away and grow as a person, learn some things that were not related to work,” she says, revealing she studied international law at UCLA.

She truly does. I grew up and lived not even 25 minutes away from this tragedy that Pam Hupp committed in 2011 and it wasn't covered locally in the media like it should have been. Corrupt doesn't begin to describe Lincoln County.

I have always really liked Renee. She's a gentle spirit and did an incredible transformation with this role. Her walk is the best replication. If you watch "The thing about Pam" peep at the way she walks.

I love it when older people go back to school. If you have the opportunity, time, and desire, please do it. It's never too late to get more education. It's not for everybody, of course, sometimes money makes it hard but if you get the chance, do it. I love hearing about older people going back to school. Always makes me smile and inspire.

I watched the 1st 3 episodes last night. Renee Zellweger is an amazing actor. I'm a true crime aficionado so I'm excited about this series esp because Keith Morrison is the narrator.

I think now she looks very pretty now, healthy and her age. She said she wasn't taking care of herself at one point which is why she stepped back. If you look at her early movies before she became famous, she isn't that different.

It's the first time in a while that I've commented while watching something, "she's such a great actress!" *spoiler if you haven't seen the show* At the end of the 2nd episode when they're interrogating her, and the detective first says something that implies she could be involved, she shows a flash of visible shock, her eyes grow wide, and from there on out her crossed leg starts bouncing. I was like, dang, she's actually FEELING the emotion. Amazing!

I just got finished with the series on Amazon Prime. And i must say she NAILED it maybe not looking just like Pam. But her mannerisms and her overall characteristics were spot on. She's truly a class A actor in my book.

I just watched her on What If, and can’t believe that her voice is really soft like a 3 year old’s. I got 2 teenage nieces who also talks like that, and always thought that they were just being babies, but who knew. I mean, Michel’le is one thing, but this chick .
