Just realized I also forgot to mention in the video I of course tinted the windows to the legal maximum which in Utah at the time was 45% in the front windows and 5% in all of the rest of the windows. Also, my X1 has an exterior lighting package that has white lights when you unlock the car at night which is cool.

This convinced me on whether I should de-badge my X1. I accidentally flaked the chrome off my badge during a pressure wash recently, and I wasn't sure if I should scrap or replace it. Very clean X1 you have.

hey renegade zen love the vid i recently purchased a 14 x1 xdrive28i myself with 75k miles. I was just wondering how maintenance is like with this car for u. Has it been problematic? what ownership habits do you recommend with this car?

Thanks! Wow you and i are on the same journey then because mine now has 79k miles. I just recently had mine serviced and the techs found a leak in the oil filter housing gasket. $1000 fix. Yikes. Other than that though ive put 12k miles on mine in 6 months and she has been great.

Not be be a smart-ass but X-line doesn’t exist.. either you have a M-package or X-drive. M-package is mainly optical, with M logos all around and all the grey/blackish bumpers in the same colour as the whole car. The X-drive is referring to the type of drivetrain, you have either X-drive or S-drive, where X-drive is 4-wheel drive and S-drive rear wheel drive.

"X-Line" was an appearance package. It came with the words "X-Line" stitched into the head rests of my front seats, "X-Line" words in the door seals and if I go to the settings of my car I can change the ambient lighting to the "X-line" ambient lighting theme so it's all over the car

Any problems with the timing chain? I read online that it fails and when it does, then the whole engine needs to be replaced. I am looking at buying a 2012 X1 Xdrive28i with 92k miles.

No problems with that. All clear for me. I now have 80k miles on mine and it's been great

Kind of depends on how tall you and the person riding shotgun are. How long are your legs? Because I am 6 foot with long legs and whoever sits behind me has almost ZERO leg room.

@@JaredFleischer it's definitely gonna be a tight fit..the x1 is basically just a lifted little car. But to know for sure of course you can go test drive somebody's x1 and x3 and compare the two but the x1 is going to have better styling, more sporty and slightly better mpg. (By the way I have now put almost 30k miles on mine without a single problem and my car now has 94k miles so it's been pretty dang reliable so far)

@@renegadezen7841 from my experience with bmw and also talking to friends as long as you keep up with the maintenance etc they will be a reliable car. I most definitely will test drive the two and compare. Thanks for the info
