The key is to twist the knob a little bit so it can come out without damaging the adapter underneath.

I tried that but the white part came off with the knob. I guess I have to cut it out now ?

How did you remove the metal thing because i cant rip my shift knob apart since its not silicone or gum, and j tried pulling up my shift knob that hard i nearly shit myself just cant manage to understand how the metal thing comes out

not in a renault ;) there is a proprietary mount and they don't have a threaded rod or anything. Plus most renault cars have a pull up reverse. Of course ... you can just remove the head and put a new one without doing all the stuff he did in the video but still no screwing in there. You need to twist it a bit and pull really hard to get it out.

@@davec3974 nah, I just ended up buying one of these 3rd party gear knobs from Amazon. You put a fairly tight bit of rubber on the stick and then grub screw the new knob onto it
