In post-World War 1 literature, the Renault FT is frequently referenced as the FT-17
The French light tank FT17 (or something similar) was one of the most revolutionary, and significant tank designs in history!
The FT was the first manufacturing tank, to integrate a completely rotating turret with its weaponry!
The Société des Automobiles Renault Renault Automobile Company, one of France's main automobile manufacturers at the time and now, designed and manufactured the FT.
It's conceivable that Louis Renault started working on the concept as early as December 21, 1915!
The Renault FT's crew compartment in the front, engine compartment in the back, and main armament in a spinning turret became ,and still is, the standard tank layout!
As a result, some armored warfare historians have dubbed the Renault FT the world's first modern tank. !!
The Renault is powered by a 4.5 litre 4-cylinder thermosiphon water-cooled engine ! Engine oil pump, Zenith carburetor with presets, and Magneto ignition !
At 1500 RPM, it produces 39 horsepower!
It has a range of 37 miles and a top speed of 4.3 miles per hour !
The Renault FT could navigate very steep hills ,without losing power since the engine was intended to run normally under any slant !
The engine's radiator fan provided effective internal ventilation, by drawing air through the front crew compartment of the tank , and forcing it out through the back engine compartment
It's only 5 metres long and 1.74 metres wide
2.14 Meter is the height
The Renault FT is 6.5 tonnes in weight

Great work! I would suggest pairing the background images to the text being read, such as showing the machine gun version while talking about the machine gun specs, showing the versions side-by-side when discussing differences, etc. Also, maybe adding a voiceover/sound queue to transitional title slides like "Specs" to help viewers know that a new section is coming (especially folks who like to listen without watching). Otherwise, good stuff. Have subscribed to see more!

The Puteaux SA 18 wasn't a naval gun but instead used the ammunition from a naval gun. The Puteaux SA 18 instead derived from the Canon d'Infanterie de 37 modèle 1916 TRP mini-field gun which was a scaled down Canon de 75 modèle 1897 field gun, using Hotchkiss 37×94 mmR ammunition.

Amazing video, there are few detailed videos of this first modern tank with rotating turret in any language, even in French. It is funny how it was a rather balanced tank, even for this period of WWI, and easy to mass-produce

The 12 mm armour was only intended to stop small arms fire and fragments from light artillery, for which it was adequate. Germany had no tanks and anti-tank guns didn't exist yet, so this would not be an issue for some time yet.

Maybe the most successful tank ever designed. It served in both World Wars, all of the way up to the 1980's, and possibly even further, if you count their use as pillboxes. U.S. forces even captured a couple of examples during the Iraq war.

I mean, in theory, the Lincoln 1 later known as a Little Willy also had a rotating turret before terrain mobility testing, and so on, but generally it is a great informational video.

What does the spoiler at the end of the tank supposed to do?
@brinta2868
@brinta2868 3 күн бұрын
@fr3ddyfr3sh I've heard several different explanations, and it's probably number 1: 1. The rounded tail made the tank longer so that it could cross trenches and ditches without falling in. It gives the tracks the chance to get a proper grip on the other side. Without the tail the tank would glide backwards, and then it would end up standing upright on its butt. 2. It's to keep the tank from making a backflip when going up a steep slope. But I don't think that really works with the shape; the tail would have to be much more pointed downwards (because the 'ground' behind the tank on a slope is also at a high angle). 3. It's to keep the tank from making a backflip when climbing over something (for example a tree lying on the ground). This seems more plausible than #2, because now there's still the horizontal ground. The 45 degree angle of the tail would make sense. *Regardless of the main reason, a free added bonus of the tail is that bullets from behind are deflected downwards, thus protecting the vulnerable engine. Otherwise a bullet on the flat rearpanel would be quite damaging. Bullets that miss the tail will land on the angled panels of the tank, deflecting the bullets left, right, or up. But now that I think about it, that doesn't make much sense either. Someone behind the tank but to the left or right could hit those angled panels straight on.

@Aitelly
@Aitelly 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, we did some They kept on Changing in this era a lot with the German Empire. The national flag of Germany (German: Flagge Deutschlands) is a tricolour consisting of three equal horizontal bands displaying the national colours of Germany: black, red, and gold (German: Schwarz-Rot-Gold).[1] The flag was first sighted in 1848 in the German Confederation; with it being officially adopted as the national flag of the Weimar Republic from 1919 to 1933, and again being in use since its reintroduction in West Germany in 1949. Since the mid-19th century, Germany has two competing traditions of national colours, black-red-gold and black-white-red. Black-red-gold were the colours of the 1848 Revolutions, the Weimar Republic of 1919-1933 and the Federal Republic (since 1949). They were also adopted by the German Democratic Republic (1949-1990). We had Done some Research but for some Reason We Just left it like That
