This time lapse video gives you an idea of the installation of a TowTrust fixed flange tow bar with 7 pin vehicle specific electrics. All of the factory bolt locations needed to be cleaned as they where slightly rusty and filled with gunk.
The vehicle specific electrics intercepts into the factory harness in the rear of the vehicle which result in no cut cables. The power supply is connected into the factory tow bar power supply and a 20amp fuse is located at the factory location in the fuse box.
With the test procedure it is always important to test all of the light and functions are working correctly. This includes the side/tail lights, brake lights, indicators and fog light. The vehicle specific electrics has a bulb failure buzzer which has been located in the cab. This is tested by simply disconnecting our indicator bulb via a switch on our test board to activate the buzzer. The vehicle specific kit also has a fog cut off feature for the trailer. When your trailer is connected the vehicles fog light will switch off however this will remain on on the trailer. This is tested by simply disconnecting and reconnecting with the fog lights on.
