Speargun fishing was more sustainable than net fishing .. fisherman can choose matured fish to spear, whereas fishnets drag all sorts of small size fish which as a results does more harm to the eco system of the sea. You can see nowadays what happened in Mauritius lagoon is empty hardly see any fish or seafood. I don’t know the reason behind this speargun banned . Many countries still have speargun .. may be our government should have debate about this .. I don’t know it’s my personal opinion.
