As always with my reviews it will be spoiler free! Followed by a little spoiler reaction discussion on a few talking points I'd like to discuss, for those that have already read the book.

My farvorite aspect was the relationship between Solomon and his Lady Witch. Their banter was enjoyable, she was a tremendous asset and allie and Traitors with real friendships are always a treat to find.

That is a feature Mike Brooks seems to like putting into his novels. Mind you, I've only read 2 of his (this and new lion novel), so sample size is bit lacking for full judgement on my part. This time, they work very well. And as someone said, the clean or dirty bit stands firm.

@@croyx1a900 the alpha legion primarch book made the whole alpha legion story straight forward, they had a civil war with half supporting omegon and the other half alpharius. Omegon was the one who died but alpharius was loyal to the emperor, alpharius was the first primarch to be found while omegon was the last

I just finished Harrowmaster today, and it is a huge lore advancement for the Alpha Legion. It gives me hope that they will get more than token attention by GW in rules and miniatures

Wanted to play Dark Angels in 10th edition but waited and I've honestly been holding out hope that we'll see some Alpha Legion minis sometime before next year.

I love the Alpha Legion has been getting some love lately! Finding the pale spear was bad ass, but finding the Pythian scales would be even better! That's what my OC warband is doing.

"If this series continues..." I felt the same way about Occam and the Redacted... and then with the Unsung... The fact is that GW only ever seems interesting in setting up interesting Alpha Legion plots, but continuing none of them. Unfortunately, I see the "Ghost Legion" stuff being stuck in the same closet as those.

It could be an issue with the writer as much as gw. If he writes it I'm sure they're happy to sling it.

Hopefully we get the night lords-trilogy equivalent. Hopefully. Glad to see there are others who like redacted and unsung storyline too. "(Unsung) told us to eat the business end of our bolters", good bit.

The combo of nice cover art, being alpha legion novel and a well written story drew me into reading this one. Brooks did not dissappoint. Novel touches on the pale spear a bit - speculating was its power in the shaft or the blades.

I wouldn’t call myself a harrow MASTER, but I did join a semi-pro harrowing team last year and we’re going to regionals next month.

Also the big reveal with the a certian character at the end was amazing did not see that coming.

I bought this book entirely due to one of Wolfs previous video, I HIGHLY recommend it whether you are a fan of the alpha legion or not Really cracking book!

Wait. I thought the epilogue of the heresy book Praetorian of Dorn reveals that Alpharius had been Omegon and the one calling himself Omegon had been the actual Alpharius.

This was a great video, Rho! This is a lie...within a riddle...wrapped in a knock-knock joke. No, but seriously, this was great. Rho has turned me on to a lot of great 30/40k books that I would have never given a chance otherwise.

what a wholesome adventure this one is... 😂 it doesn't feel sinister or overly grimm like the others. my favorite part is,(spoiler alert) ST: "damn! what in warpcraft are you?!" Solomon: "I can say the same to you" 😂

It’s best said, why is it that the symbol of the Alpha Legion a three headed hydra when when AlphaOmagon were twins. Could there be a third brother? Could Alpharius be the primarch for the second legion, Omegon being the primarch of the eleventh legion, and there is a hidden third brother that is the true master and primarch of the twentieth chapter that we don’t know about yet? The thought plickens!

I was wondering, will you be reviewing Longshot by Rob Young? Also, I was curious how this compares to Sons of the Hydra by Rob Sanders in your opinion.

That'll be a doozy to compare. Both writers are good stuff, and both stories are compelling read. Not sure how leadership styles of occam and solomon compare, might be a good topic to explore.

Pretty much all the recent Alpha Legion stuff has the legionnaires specifically reference the 'Twin Primarchs' I haven't run across specific mention of Omegon by name, but honestly no one who says 'Alpharius' is referring directly to the Primarch either lol

Was looking forward to getting it on Audible but the reviews for the audiobook are bad. Especially the performance who apparently decided astartes sounds like adolescent teens.

Actually I think there are still some Horus heresy era alpha legionares because of warp stuff in other alpha legion books but indeed the alpha legion must be the legion with less heresy era marines, they are a minority in their own legion.

I nearly selected this on Audible this week, sadly the narrator sounded bloody awful. Ended up going for Helsreach. Glad I did, it’s amazing.

Regarding traitor primaris, what happened to the improved geneseed Corax created with the memories of big E, that was stolen and the remainder tainted by the Alpha Legion? Shouldn’t they still have it and with that equal or better marines than Cawls blasphemy.

While it was cool to see a modern look at the legion, I came out of the book feeling like the purpose of this book wasn't to write a story but to validate anyone's opinion on their own interpretation of the legion in modern times.

What the flip is that picture of of an alpha legionary? Ain't they all supposed to be similar in look and build .... I missed the part where my white bald man model resembled a black man with dreads .....if that's a GW artpiece ... They've really become lore incompetant ... Pick one ..either one I don't mind ...but maybe make your models resemble the lore ..if that's fan made art then ...Weve found the issue...

It was stated in the lore that geneseed can alter the guy implanted with it to more closely resemble the primarch the geneseed was derived from (corax, curze, vulkan to name a few). As for darker skinned character of the novel, that's more of Brooks' doing(or so I'm told).

During the crusade/heresy maybe, but After, when the traitor legions are often forced to take what they can get? Yeah they are gonna look different. It's not like the raven guard who all recruit from one specific planet where the people all look the same. Solomon for example, the guy on the cover is from a tribal world. Not to mention that one of the things all marines have is the ability to can change the melanation of their skin to protect from radiation. So they can all be black.

I don’t know what these other guy’s are telling you but what you said is right they should’ve all resemble alpharius or omegon to the best of their operations they do to change appearance so they can do the whole i am alpharius stick like he can never say he is alpharius nor can he say he is vulcan. If they changed lore in the last year all i can say is yet another generic space marine army that lost their uniqueness

It's literally NEVER mentioned that he's dark skinned from what I remember. AT BEST its mentioned that he, and another legionary, from a now destroyed tribal world. It's not woke, he's just a different skin tone.
