What I got from the end was that Maul was conflicted about killing the girl,but knew his master was watching. He then drew upon his rage to finish the job.

I never understood why people thought Maul was thinking of taking her on as an apprentice. The look on his face is off sorrow and pity, not scheming. He's conflicted. This was his final turn to the darkside, like Anakin being conflicted about betraying Mace, or Luke being conflicted about killing Vadar. This was Mauls final fall to the darkside. Well, that's how I see it anyway. And it's great because it's through nothing but facial expressions

Everyone forgets that Maul never wanted to be a Sith, he was hand chosen and forced into darkness. You can see with every kill in the fan-film he's pained and almost sad about it. Except when he wants to stop, the Emperor is watching and he has to kill her.

Darth Maul and General Grievous were the most robbed characters of the prequels. If they would have only made Grievous half of what he was in the first Clone Wars animated series...

when you go by canon, Maul didn't die in episode 1, they brought him back in the clone wars series (where he has artificial legs) and there they nearly killed him again, just to bring him back again in the rebels series

Maul's not dead in canon. I love the prequels. I was right that I'd see a bunch of prequel hate in this video. Still a good reaction.

Maul and Kenobi was so quick during filming of the fight that they had to slow it down for the final cut.

The master of that Padawan definitely felt like he didn't have control over his hatred. He pretty much led those jedi's to their doom as he refused to retreat from a threat stronger and or unknown to them.

I "like" how the Togrutan woman, who is most likely the person who spent the most time preparing for this video (make-up and outfit), yet she is the first jedi to go down as soon as the fight starts. UGH. She looked so cool, too!

You guys should look up Maul cosplay on Facebook. He's the one who played Darth Maul in this short film. Besides doing his own make up, he's also a professional stuntman.

20:32 do not forget that sidious own master darth plagueis was still alive during "a phantom menace". maul was defeated only seconds after sidious killed plagueis. in the novel sidious even felt the great disturbance in the force when maul was defeated but misunderstood it to be plagueis return from the death

Your right about the sith breaking that rule all the time. Hell, Bane technically broke the rule by trying to take a new apprentice while Zannah was still alive.

Fun Fact. When Darth Sideous took Maul as an apprentice, Darth Plageuis was still alive. He knew about Maul as well, but allowed Sideous to keep his apprentice, because they both knew that Maul wouldn’t last.

Technically Maul was still an apprentice to the dark side so he cannot asked her to become his apprentice. His training once complete then was declared by the sith as Lord Maul but with the price of killing her as his opponent.

In that last bit there. Palpatine's drones say to maul that this is a trial to see if he's worthy of being palpatine's apprentice still. He hesitated from killing her because he felt sorry and pitied her, in no way was he thinking of taking her has his apprentice but he didn't really want to kill her until he saw his master was watching, he then dug deep into the darkside and harnessed his rage which gave him the strength to finish her off.

I have to say in Revenge of the Sith the Order 66 and Operation: Knightfall sequences were my favorite.

The Lightsabers are from a company called Ultrasabers. I myself have a pair of them, they are akin to martial arts grade training weapons fully duel worthy. and this was shot in Germany I believe.

Next up, you should see "Mr. and Mrs. Sith", they've done a great job with the costumes and special effects.

I love this video, idk if they did this on purpose, but if you read into Maul’s back story when fighting he felt it was underhanded to use The Force on an opponent in a lightsaber duel. That’s why he never used it until Obiwan began to overwhelm him. But when she used the force on him. The physical change you see in Maul changes, he gets pissed. I thought that was a great detail that they added in.

The first taste of the darkside is always the most powerful, it's much like a drug in that case.

all the jedi were mostly raised by monks and trained by monks which gave them better control over there emotions, with the exception of the grey jedi order, and aniken was only trained by them not raised which is how he couldn't control his feelings.

Maul was very conflicted about killing her. It would have been nice if there had been some words between them. Maul knows that this pretty Jedi lady has a lot of potential. Maul wants to train her. You see the heartbreak on Maul's face after he kills her. There is the possibility that she's not dead. We don't actually see Maul kill her.

Part of the reason why Return of the Jedi was geared so much towards children is because they realized that a large majority of the people who were watching these movies in theaters were kids and I know this because 1 of those kids was my dad

Darth mual is the ideal assassin!. Liam neassiin played good gin. Honestly return of the Jedi is still by far my favorite Star Wars movie of all time! I’m fan of monster aliens. They gave Grievous and Darth Maul their time to shine in the Clone Wars series and i guess Rebels as well and it was awesome. I mean Grievous lured a large group of clones and two jedi into his hideout and he didn't even need to show up! And Maul with thee robot legs and hid brother was insane!

Maul was conflicted about this Jedi woman. This Jedi woman has true potential. She would have made a great apprentice. Some Sith don't like to kill young teen Jedi or Gray Jedi. It's because that Gray Jedi or Jedi has not unlocked their full power yet.

Maul is such a great character. I got this awesome book about him from a young age to his defeat, it was awesome. Osrisis Academy was great, I wished there was more stuff about it in the book.

It is harder to fight by dual-wielding lightsabers yes, but that's why dual-wielding has an entirely different fighting technique devoted to it. It wouldn't necessarily be breaking the rules for Maul to take her on as a new apprentice, the Rule of Two would simply dictate that Maul and Sidious would then duel ASAP to determine which Sith was stronger and the winner would then get to decide whether to take her as an apprentice or kill her. For Maul to take her as an apprentice would be nothing more than a challenge to Sidious, a statement that he thought he was stronger than Sidious, which he knew he wasn't.

As much as you guys hate the prequels, you can’t deny the fact that Revenge of the Sith was a great movie. Sure, it had its flaws for example some pieces of dialogue, but all the bad ass fight scenes like Anakin, Obi-Wan vs Count Dooku, Obi-Wan vs General Grievous, Yoda vs Darth Sidious. The best parts though are Anakin turning to the dark side, order 66, Obi-Wan vs Anakin, they are down right the most gut wrenching scenes in all of Star Wars. If anything, that movie made me appreciate the originals even more because we know Anakin’s tragic backstory to the dark side. In my opinion, Revenge of the Sith was a better film than all the other Star Wars movies, but the originals was a better franchise.

It seems as if everyone has forgotten Lord Vader's secret apprentice... Starkiller. There is a high chance that Darth Maul had a secret apprentice also.

Kinda a commentary on the whole video. lol There was no thought of taking her as an apprentice, that was him seeing himself in her. If you don't know his story, he was stolen from his family at a young age, filled with fear, being tortured, and forced to become what he became. Seeing her, young and full of fear, wanting nothing more than to flee, reminded him of himself. Difficult filmmaking method to pull off, having the main character growth be internal, but very effective in this film. That moment wasn't her turning dark, or grey. That was her realizing that her death doesn't matter, what mattered was stopping the Sith. With that came a burst of determination that comes with realizing that. The Ewoks being in the film wasn't Lucas. That was Fox having made a contract with a toy company, and part of the contract required something being included in Jedi that could be marketed toward kids, and be made into toys. Rogue One, Episode 8, Han Solo, Episode 9, Obi Wan, Episode 10, and so on. We're getting a saga film every other year, and an anthology film between them. Episode 8 has been filming for a while, and will be done fully filmed by the time that Rogue One comes out. As far as the holiday special being worse than someone leaking a sex tape... Depends on who leaked it... I mean, I'd rather watch the holiday special than an Oprah sex tape, for instance.

Well, Shawn Bu did a Scene that Shows, that the Girl is Not Dead. Unfortunatly, this Scene was not Used, so he made the same mistake done in phantom Menace - let a good Charakter die...

Serious? turn? You can be angry, you can be pissed, you can be enraged....Red eyes, dark side, Sidous made sure to put Anakin in various stages of rage by giving him reasons to be more pissed off then the last....his mom's death and killing off the whole Tusken village which got him his red eyes, then killing off Jedi at the Temple including children to never go back to the light, finally going against Mace to save a Sith lord to prove loyalty. Being pissed doesnt mean rage, if one of her classmates under the Master was a loved one then I can see enraged. love is a powerful reason to be over the edge.

When I was much younger I did start out with the original 3 movies then we worked around to the prequels, because my dad was about my age when he saw star wars for the first time, So he exposed us to the originals first as far as I can remember but I always found the prequels to be waffling from one side to the other on the good/bad scale, though how much to one side or the other is what I find more difficult to flesh out.

Him taking her as an “apprentice” doesn’t make Much sense, as he already wasn’t officially an apprentice, he was an assassin. Sidious DID train him like an apprentice though, but if Maul took an apprentice as well, plaguis would get VERY suspicious, even if Sidious allowed it.

The ironic thing about you guys mentioning the Rule of Two before Maul killed the girl? Darth Sidious wasn't the sith master yet at this point while training Maul. He was still the apprentice, because Darth Plagueis was still alive until shortly after Palpatine was elected Supreme Chancellor. And even funnier? Plagueis knew all about Maul, and basically was amused at Sidious having his own attack dog, so he didn't kill Maul outright. Plagueis was also of the opinion that, while useful as an assassin, Maul would never be able to actually become the sith master.

If a padawan's master dies they'll enter a stage of waiting for a new master and if a new master doesn't select them they're sent to an agricultural planet or other facility to work. Sounds fucked up and it is but they have no where else to go really. But before that they'll be tested to see if they're ready to become a knight and if they pass the trials good for them but if they fail they'll enter that stage referred in the beginning of this comment.

I gotta say that comment that "The lightsaber barrels are void of detail and that is distracting to me" is a very silly complaint considering the sheer quality of the rest of the film.... There's actual criticisms and then there is just nit picking haha.
