What's kinda messed up is the band actually did continue playing in the real sinking of the Titanic. If I remember correctly the entire band died.

C**kJackyGoo Goo Goo They went down in a bathysphere looking for the wreck but then the bathysphere sank and they all went to Atlantis. In the end the Atlanteans rebuilt the Titanic and gave it back to them.

The thing is, the English version is heavly edited with some of the scenes cut from the original italian version. The italian version of the movie in fact, does not start with the titanic sinking, it starts directly on the train.
