Renewal of an old vice

My first video shows the restoration of an old and interesting #vice that I bought at the city's stock exchange. The #renovation took over half a year because I am in the process of building a new house and I do not have much time to spend on it. The most difficult thing was to thoroughly clean the entire vice because I did not have a sandblasting booth at the time and the brush cannot get everywhere. The jaws were also well knocked out, so there was a lot of work to do with them. The most important thing is that the end result brought me satisfaction, which I wish you too.

I've never seen a vise in that style. You did an amazing restoration. I am in the middle of restoring a small machinist vise. I was polishing a small bolt and it slipped out of my hand and shot across the shop. Guess i now have to make a new one. Your videos are very inspiring. Thank you.

The casting was a little rough but you made that look much better. The design is awesome. The mechanics of the vice are good. Your restoration of the vice was AWESOME! And you saved yet another item from the rubbish pile or furnace. GREAT JOB! THANK YOU for sharing.

I love the shape of that vice its wonderful. Did the same thing with a Snap On Vise which was really a Wilton vice. Got it for a nice price.

This vise is very good and in excellent condition. The texture of the old cast iron is beautiful in itself. Leveling and even more polishing should be applied to a limited extent. Polished vise jaws are nonsense. But this is of course nit-picking. Good job.

It's beautiful. I love Hammerite finishes. I do not understand the utility of polished steel jaws, though. A vise is made for gripping things tightly. Mirror-polished steel jaw faces will slip. I hope the vise serves you well. Thanks!
