The style of house they built is called a "double shotgun" and they are common in New Orleans. They normally would have been traditionally two units next to each other, but many have been renovated into one larger home (yes, often with two front doors)

To add context, a "shotgun" house usually has a front door and back door that line up with no walls blocking the line of sight between them. (At least in the Midwest; I'm not sure if that's how it looks inside the New Orleans version.)

I like it! But i do think that the “coastal” theme wasn’t really present if not with a few art piece, probably a more sandy-colored wood floor would have tied the aesthetic better

the base game house is actually what's called a shotgun house! it's a style found primarily in New Orleans, Louisiana. they typically have doors in the front and back for good airflow, as it gets very hot and humid in the southern US. this particular style is a double shotgun. 😄

I love the way you used different textures to pull everything all together. That aesthetic was definitely something to try and pair with orange, but you did so well! I'd love to see this expanding to more EA built houses!! 🫶

This houses are common in New Orleans. I think they call them railroad houses! They are gorgeous! I’m not sure I remember correctly, but I think they have 2 entrances as they were divided in 2 homes… I think… really not sure! But that’s what I think inspired the EA build!

I love this! the orange cowgirl coastal astethic is everthing you should totally continue this challenge with the rest of sims base game builds with willow creek and oasis springs. would love to see what you come up with! espically with that darn crack cabana house or whatever its called. 🤣

I would argue that is "too orange" on the outside. Personally I would have gone for a beige and a blue as for wood lines cats and dogs wallpaper with orange wood furniture and windows. HOWEVERR, I recognise this is YOUR interpretation and I still like a lot the inside!

Houses like this with the two front doors are really common in Louisiana (and Willow Creek was based off New Orleans architecture) and are usually a duplex. One door usually just opens to a staircase that brings you to the upstairs apartment. Or if It's one floor, they just kinda split it down the middle.

Absolutely phenomenal as always!! I hope you're enjoying your vacation, its definitely well-deserved! An idea for when you get back: an Italian-inspired villa where each home is a different famous Italian dish (like Gelato or Risotto). Could be a a fun mix between your previous Every Time Home is a Different Flavour and the massive builds you've been doing recently! You could even base the different homes off of different styles you saw personally!

I feel like this house would be a great shotgun house, reno type thing. A rental with 2 homes makes sense. We have those in Vegas and other places in the Southern US. Half the houses on my Block were shotgun 😂 😂😂😂

I think a really cool idea would be to make the whole house the same random aesthetic but make every section/room a different random color or the opposite where the whole house is the same color but every room is a different aesthetic
