I lived there most of my life. When rain comes in the desert it is always too much no happy medium. Down the hill from you in DHS it’s always windy I lost the tops of my jacarandas they were ripped off one year. Then there was the year it rained so much I couldn’t leave town to get to work in rancho mirage. Girl you’ve been through worse storms you can do this stuff. Good you’ve got a good neighbor. No one should be alone. No need to rush the reno you’re not going anywhere and once done you might want to change things homes are an evolving thing because we change. Love ya girl you rock

Wow, I’m sorry that you are feeling alone! Obviously, you don’t broadcast every private issue you face… But I do remember the times that you did projects with your dad at your parents home and you spoke so highly of him in your voice overs. I remember that because seeing you interact with your dad, mirrored me and my dad’s relationship… So, that really stuck out to me. Also, as a parent myself, I know that our LOVE and CONCERN can SEEM or be PERCEIVED in the complete OPPOSITE way in which we intended. Being a parent never ends… We just come to realize that we have less and less say over your decision making and sometimes it’s a hard pill to swallow… Especially when we THINK we know better! And even if we do know better, we have to sit back let our children make those mistakes… But, that doesn’t make it easier!!! It’s a funny thing, when you have kids of your own, you start hearing and seeing yourself saying and doing the same things your parents said and did to you!!! And you start to have a better understanding of what your parents were going through at the age they were when they were raising you. Sorry, for the novel… But, it hurt my heart to hear you say you felt really alone and that your parents hadn’t checked up on you! Maybe they weren’t aware of the storm in your area… I know I wasn’t 🤷🏽‍♀️ Or maybe they feel like you don’t want to hear from them… I REALLY DON’T KNOW!!! But I DO KNOW, YOUR PARENTS LOVE YOU, and WOULD GIVE THEIR LIFE TO SAVE YOURS… and nothing you say or do will change those facts! So, if you do miss your parents and want them to know you want to hear from them from time to time… Just simply text them an “I Love You” and leave it at that. They will reply and hopefully that will reopen the lines of communication…. IFFFFF, that’s what you all want! I’m praying for you Rachel 🙏🏾😘🥰

I love you're design choices! If you plan to do smooth walls for the rest of the house id highly recommend a large drywall scrapper, a wall sander (triangle shape is best), and an extendable pole for the sanding head. It will make your job so much easier!

We thought it was hilarious because it would be us to follow the same person, we enjoy the same things. But we're 4 hrs away from each other, don't see each other very often and you brought us together! Lol. So when your videos come out, one of us always says "Rachel has a new video today" lol.

I will never take my perfectly smooth walls for granted! I live in Australia and all houses built after the 60s have smooth walls, it just isn't an option to get orange peel which I'm so grateful for!

I live in Apple valley CA (high desert) and when we had the Hurricane coming in I thought of you and was worried about you and everyone out there. I’m glad you guys didn’t get it that bad like we did. Just a lil more rain than usual and winds weren’t too bad. Looooove your videos. I already had a psychiatrist for 2.5 years he’s grate n now I finally got my therapist assigned 2 days ago she’s a doll sweet as can be. Love that I have in person ppl I can sit and talk to work with me prescribed medications find techniques to help u grow never put ur mental health on hold once that clears a lot of things in life do as well so I’m glad u went to better help n got help

I will admit I’ve been avoiding your channel because it’s seemed so chaotic lately. But this episode feels like you are finding a direction and beginning to move in a more organized way. Your reaction to the hurricane was very similar to my first one last year with Hurricane Ian. We'd just moved to Florida and were supposed to be a direct hit so we were freaking out and prepping, and my neighbors were calm as can be lol. I also remember feeling really alone when the only people that reached out to check on me were my brother and best friend. I now just try to remember that unless you're the one going through it and seeing it on the news 24/7, its hard to empathize and realize the severity of the situation. That being said it does feel extremely isolating and hurtful in the moment.
