Renovation and giving the home a new look along with retaining elements of the past are some of the key highlights of this project.
The architect of Hiraya Design Studio walks through the house and explains how she brilliantly managed to renovate the existing Villa by adding different elements and materials that are true to its nature giving out the essence of a typical Mangalorean-style home.

Mangalore had a very beautiful workworking culture. Sadly it's getting lost to neo modern cheap furniture. I request all mangalorean to adopt 1~2 peices of mangalorean style furniture at home, to keep this industry going and keep our heritage.

Do you know any popular shops which is in to local furniture

@@ravalnathKamath Generally these are traditional artisan shops or people working from homes, you need to find them, most operate from their homes. They make based on your requirements. These were family based occupation, but now most have left the trade, as the next generation is generally educated taking up engineering etc and many have moved to different profession's abroad. Sadly it's slow dying profession, cannot compete pricewise with machine made furniture. You see still some of them working on temple pillars & doors, you can ask them to make a traditional style benchs / tables with drawers, or make some traditional chests.

Even the traditional Mangalore tiles have lost their quality over time.

Would love to go for some traditional pieces. I am a big fan of handwork, especially old traditional art. However would prefer an online store for the same.

@buildofy might as well use just a macro lens and go over all the nooks and crannies of surface and blur the video just to sell your PDF ebooks, earlier it use to somewhat cohesive and legible in terms of the overall architecture for viewers to get their bearing, full of fluff. if the trailer is so bad, i am pretty sure the "premium" walkthroughs are hot garbage. better have some structure to your videos get a better screenwriter/producer on the verge of unsubscribing , rant over.
