The 80’s were pure talent. Anything before 2000 you actually had to have talent. Now you just have to look good and have a following and auto tune will take care of the rest. There isn’t one artist today that makes music like this.

My wife and I just returned from Knoxville TN to watch REO and Rick Springfield opened up for them...INCREIBLE SOUND...both bands still had AWESOME VOICES!!! Was the best night plus I got to check off one of the boxes on my wife's bucket list!!! Guys if you do this...be sure to get a room at a ritzy hotel (we did the Hilton) to finish off the night. We've been married 31+ years and after the concert was 'as awesome' as the concert itself. Turned my lady into a LADY TIGER!!! LOL!!! It was SO COOL to see young people at this concert as well....80's music was ROCKIN!!!! Jimmy Lee

Great memories. This is back when Kevin Cronin actually looked like Kevin Cronin and Gary Richrath played that unmistakable guitar. They had already transitioned from a rock band to a pop band, going from Gary's rock guitar driven music to Cronin's ballads, but at least they still sounded like REO Speedwagon. We met in Miri, Sarawak on the island of Borneo where she was teaching high school. And then I would set the time machine on "Groundhog Day Mode" and repeat those happy days for all eternity. This song was popular when I met my wife. Spot on for us in sentiment and humor. Bringing the ship to shore and throwing away the oars forever, and all that. Two years ago, she passed away. Shortly afterward, I was watching some videos of our favorite music on You Tube. I had probably seen this video before, but with about 1 minute to go (you know when) I literally gasped. It brought tears, but happy ones, for having had her light in my life.

A year ago I was listening to this song on the radio on my way home from work on Saturday. Facing another long two days sitting at home alone. This song made me think about my friend who I was starting to have romantic feelings for. I went to her apt. that night and told her my feelings for her. She felt the same way. We are now living together and plan to marry soon. This song will always be very special to me.
