Hi Will, does Reolink have anything with just a POE connection straight to the camera rather than this one with reset wire and the other….it’s just annoying when installing this on a solid wall that you need a junction box for extra wire…I know Reolink has some but just make the whole installation a bit bulky.

Would love to hear what you think of their integration with HA. And whether things like motion detection work there.

Hey Will... I saw an older review on the 520 that said you couldn't turn the camera "On & Off" in the APP... Is that still true or is that what the option "Recording" ON does, allows you to turn the camera on and off when you leave and come home? Cause that would be stupid if we couldn't turn the camera on and off in the APP. Thanks. Oh, one other thing... Are recordings able to backup to the CLOUD, once you've set up your account (there's a free basic plan)? Someone mentioned you can't use the cloud unless you're using the NVR?

Hi Wil, thinking about replacing two of my Ring Stick Up POE‘s with RLC 520’s due to poor Ring night vision. Would a standard BT WiFi be able to cope with 4K or is there a 1080p POE alternative? Again great video. 👍

The 520 is 5MP not 4K, and being PoE the WiFi doesn’t need to handle the stream as it’s wired. If you’re trying to view on your phone you can always select a lower quality stream to view If you wish

Hi Wil. I have two of the 520 cameras which I installed a few months ago. The main problem I have with them is trying to get alerts when someone is on our property. I have the motion setting down to minimum and just a spot the size of a pencil set for the area where somebody could be and they continually set off an alert with just movement of shadows and branches moving in the wind. Have you any recommendations that would stop this?

Hi Roger, that surprises me - lowest setting, and a small area really shouldn't set off alerts - try a different area and see whether you're getting false alerts when there aren't lots of branches? if it's more of a fundamental issue then restart the camera :)
