Phuket is world renowned for its clear turquoise sea and white sand beaches. Many locals say that the natural beauty of Phuket right now is just like it was 40 years ago.
Near my hotel is the beautiful Naithon Beach. Although it’s only 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport, the beach here is peaceful and not crowded at all. You can lose yourself while taking a stroll and checking out ghost crabs on the beach.

5 minutes by car from Naithon Beach, we arrive at the little known Banana Beach. It may be a rough way down, but the view is definitely worth it.
Banana Beach may be small but it’s very beautiful.
If we drive an hour south of Banana Beach, we find another beach with very clear seawater. I’m talking about Kamala Beach. This time I got a beachfront room with a small private pool for a dip.
My hotel is right on Kamala Beach, where the water is quite still. This is perfect for a sport called SUP or Stand Up Paddle.

I suggest a trip away from land to enjoy the view from the ocean. Today, I’m taking a boat out to see the sunset near Laem Krating where I can also see Laem Phromthep in the distance. This super relaxing experience is one I recommend to everyone.

Next, let’s take a trip to the surrounding islands. We’ll start by taking a boat from Visit Panwa Pier in southeast Phuket. Clear, sparkling seawater is definitely on the list today.
Koh Khai is another island close to Phuket more than 15 minutes away by boat. The water is stunning today. You definitely should come visit the island at this time.
On Koh Khai Nai, the clear water is definitely a match for Koh Khai Nok, but there are also strange-shaped rocks which you can climb on to check out the view from a high point. These also serve as super cool photo backgrounds.

Another island that you should visit is Koh Hey because it’s only 15 minutes away from Phuket. There are beautiful beaches and plenty of spots to unwind.

When I get back from the islands, I head to Phuket International Airport to rent a car from Europcar to drive to Khao Lak. Since I’m in Khao Lak, I have to learn how to surf on Pakarang Beach. A newbie like me will spend an hour learning the basics, then it’s time to hit the water. Surfing is a sport that requires a lot of strength and enthusiasm because you have to swim out into the sea to wait for the waves. But that first moment you can stand on top of a wave is completely magnificent.
