I paid about $80 for the Lithium Rebar Cutter, The motor and the plastic nut are broken,There is no battery for the cutter‘s socket,So I repaired it with a cheap brushless impact wrench.

I was gonna say "just buy a replacement, would be way cheaper than this full rebuild and turning and all that," but then I googled how much a cordless rebar cutter costs. Holy cow good job!

this was REALLY impressive. the whole built, the fit and the finish on the aluminum piece.

Tbh I'm quite impressed with how well that lil cheap motor handled powering the hydraulic pump to get thru that big ol' piece of rebar at the end. Like that's just impressive that it managed to get thru that.
@megaman9922 жыл бұрын
I’ve used a little hex impact drill like that in a pinch to take lugnuts off.. powering a little hydraulic pump should be easy, on top of being brushed to brushless upgrade
@GerstBladeworks2 жыл бұрын
@@megaman992 agreed. The motor doesn't really do much work it's the hydraulic pump that holds the load.
@scroungasworkshop46632 жыл бұрын
Well done, it looks like it came that way. I think you made a good decision to not open the hydraulic pump as they can be a nightmare to reassemble and the fluid was clean. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺

When the budget jumps into hundreds of thousands the consumer tool market falls short of what the industrial trades have. Decking gun that drive finger sized "nails" into thick steel beams. Portable hydraulic benders for pipe or re-bar. Some job sites won't let you make a spark so no friction cutting tools. Hilti has made hi-torque battery powered impact guns and grinders for years before milwaukee even thought about it.

You should have covered the magnetic core with tape, It is hard to clean the metal shavings. Also for machining the contour of the aluminum piece, you could have mounted the drill with the cutting rotating bit against the lathe and turn the lathe head by hand for the three 120 degree portions to machine that lip.
@Evergreen14002 жыл бұрын
I was very surprised he didn’t use the lathe to contour that piece. He still did a good job but I figured the lathe would have been the machine for the job rather than a dremel
