Thank you someone actually fixing it properly and not just capping them off. This will only need doing once in the cars life so capping them off is just a bodge you don't need to do. On my saab 9-3x 1.9ttid4 the internet manifold was upgraded in 2011 so mine is still going strong at 100k +. If thay do fail I will do the job properly. Thank again.

people blank them because when they fail and break away sending bits into the engine, it's good night nurse!

@@robbinbankz9272 No, the bits into the engine is a BMW problem. They blank them on Vauxhalls because this problem will reoccur once you fix it. It's not like it happens every 150.000 Km but more like 50.000km

Remove all Swirl and close the hole ! those are gonna kill your engine if they fall in

Stuff that my cdti 150 swirl flaps went boom so I cleaned everything up and removed them and blocked them off and got someone I know to remove them from the ecu (also removed egr too while we was at it) and I tell ya what my car has never driven so well!!

I'm getting mixed messages, I got one guy who says blanking them reduces power below 2k, others saying to get rid, and one of my pals is saying leave them open and delete them from the ecu along with egr blank and dpf delete, I'm sick of thinking about it all

I'm about to remove my inlet manifold and insert blanking kit,already deleted the egr so can't wait to see how it goes

Pull swirl bar off and glue (from left timing chain) num1 num2 and num4 swirls at the 10 oclock position and leave num 3 to move free (do NOT glue num 3)..... car will run great no worries about bar falling off and seal any little leaks upin process... 30min job no stripping any parts of car etc hardest bit is waiting for liquid metal glue to dry

Hi i have already done this on my vectra but i stripped the inlet manifold and replaced it with a refurbed 1 by myself but watching your video i could theoretically fit these new valve whilst manifold is still on the car would u say

Tell me can this be done? because im looking at another 300 quid to get this done by a mechanic, i can't take engines apart, but i can do this, if it can be done on the car!

@@robbinbankz9272 TBH m8 it is a labour intensive job....took me 10 hours in all and that was changing the timing belt kit too....you can lock the fuel pump pully to the engine and withdraw the fuel pump as you need to do this to get to the last 3 manifold studs...no other way around it im afraid...you also have to drain the coolant as it could end up draining into cylinders....you have take quite a bit of the engine apart to do this job and i would suggest getting another inlet manifold and refurb it to swap on to your engine straight away....i will have a refurbed one for sale soon if you are interested

@@robbinbankz9272 You can take engines apart. The only thing stopping you is you and fear. Watch a tutorial on how to do the job and then follow it step by step after watching it through from start to finish. I didn't know how to do it, but I've just stripped the intake manifold out of my astra h 1.9 sri. It definitely put up a good fight with the most ridiculous place to put fixings that you've ever seen, but perseverance and a need to save money got me through to the finish line.

@@yusufdogan2512 please explain, why is that.Is that actually the fact or is that what you think happens? Pls understand that it's a serious question, as i have no idea what is the downside of removing flaps altogether and fiting some plates instead. Tnx

@@prendedaj22 it's only for emissions on diesel engines, no loss in mpg or power (even some gain but not noticeable). The best combine flaps removal with remap and there will be significant power gain and better mpg while cruising.

On the other hand in petrol engines especially naturally aspirated they can be quite useful on low rpm, gives more torque and better mpg

Hi. Can I ask, are the flaps fully in the open position when the bar swings fully to the left side? My actuator has broken so for now I need to manually set them fully open. Cheers

I have a vectra 1.9 150 I gutted the dpf and egr valve due to thinking it would solve my problem I am now thinking of the inlet that s gone when I'm driving I used to be able to plant my foot and it will go like stink now it doesn't go anywhere come to a hill and 1st gear could this be the issue and what's the side effects off the inlet gone bad
