Several companies supply a two part putty for use with plastics but this particular one is supplied by: www.endlessriver.co.uk
NOTE: If there hadn't been such a strong section of Royalex still bridging the hole I would have put a Kevlar patch on the inside of the canoe.

One of my main hangups for boat ownership is not knowing the correct repair and maintenance techniques. Stuff like this removes a big hurdle for me.

Ray thanks for that. It takes a village, in order to get all the tricks to repair a boat. I hadn’t heard of that putty but plan on looking it up, and getting some. It seemed to be a better fix than the JB Weld and less of a mess stuck to your fingers. I absolutely love that you did this in your house.

Always good sharing ideas Lisa. Yep it is a good place for boat work/repair but thank goodness the TV remote works so we don't have to climb over the canoe every time we change channel.

Canada and Scotland. Best places to canoe in the world. I'm here in Ontario and we have over 250,000 lakes in the province alone. Without canoeing, where would I be. JB weld makes a product called Waterweld. Would do the same. Good video 👍 thank you.

Yep totally agree with Canada and Scotland: two tremendous places. I should be back out to Canada and Ontario again in 2022 having had two years cancelled with Covid. Off to do the Missinaibi (again) and maybe a lake trip with the family. Anyway yep I have come across Waterweld and I agree with you on its use. Thanks for posting

I use this stuff too! Works on fiberglass as well. It's called "liquid steel" cuz it's so tough. I think it's like an epoxy.

This is a great video! Have you tried a heat gun instead of hot water bottles? I’m curious how efficient it would be in comparison.

Trouble is that if you get to hot the Royalex can collapse. Hot water for a dent when the boat is whole but in reality I have never tried hot water bottles but that would be my first choice before a heat gun. But all of that is only opinion on my part.

@@RayGoodwinCanoe I’ve used it in the past to repair a lawn mower plastic ‘grip safety’, worked much better than I expected - for once!

I did use duct tape to get the canoe home. This is a more permanent repair.
