Nice job as usual. Had to use the Posca pen to fix logo on my sons board. Hopefully you don’t get reported for the abuse. 😂🤙🏼

Poscas can definitely save the day with logos in a sticky situation 🙌 haha, I did wonder if KZfaq would flag it. That’s why I stuck that little clip in at the very end, to show it’s all love!

I was selfishly hoping for an easy answer to white, printed logos, because that shit is expensive! 🤣 Now when my wife asks to spoon, i know what to reply with, hahaha. Another helpful video! Thanks to both of you 😊

I wonder if it would have been possible to cut out a paper template using the copy of the logo rather than printing it on rice paper and spray it on with white paint.
@smallkinedings
@smallkinedings 10 ай бұрын
@@raccoontrashpanda1467 definitely doable, though getting sharp edges is difficult with a paper stencil. You can lay masking tape over your design and cut a stencil put of that though, then you can stick the edge down and get them nice and sharp. The other option is trace the design onto your rice paper with a white poska pen but again, hard to get those nice neat edges.

@@smallkinedings Thank you for the reply, masking tape is such a great idea for stencils!

You answered my question before I could ask it! I always wondered about delamination issues with rice paper graphics. Or even coatings some put on eps blanks before glassing. It's great to watch someone work who really knows their stuff! BTW you do know girlfriends have a million or more ways of getting back at you right? LOL! (I know it was all in fun!)
@smallkinedings

Yup, definitely gotta be careful with anything beneath glass, especially spackeling EPS blanks and the like. Keep it all very minimum! Haha, she has the power for sure!!

Another good, clear, fun video. Thank you! Now, how to handle the wife is clear; but how do I get rid of the step between the hot coat and the masked part? I always feel like I might dig too much (and ruin) the latter. ps: you definitely deserve a sponsor since you are doing great!

Pleasure Andy! Which step is that, the sanding of the hot coat?
@Andy_XT
@Andy_XT 11 ай бұрын
@@smallkinedings Yep. Just like you, I think it is better to mask while prepping for the hot coat. But then it is quite hard getting rid of the line. Very likely I am just afraid of damaging the healthy cloth next to the freshly hot coated area.
@smallkinedings
@smallkinedings 11 ай бұрын
@@Andy_XT ahh yup, I get ya. I normally wipe around the tapes edge pretty hard with the brush once im done dine, just ti thin the resin out along that edge a bit. The meat of the resin needs to be over the cloth really so can even squeegee the tapes edge before it kicks. Helps with sanding, nothing worse that a big thick resin edge to sand away!

Ive been after a apron for awhile now. Cant seem to select GREY though….. would actually prefer WHITE as it shows up less Stains, but Grey will do…… How do I get one please? Since it seems possible to order an Pommy Chick, all the way from Blighty, it must be possible to send one of those Aprons to the UK as well?
@smallkinedings
@smallkinedings 11 ай бұрын
Of all the stuff I got with my shop name on it, the apron has actually been the most exciting… which feels incredibly lame to say 😆 I must be getting old! There’s a link to the shop in the description, I have the “artisan” one but there’s a couple there. The only white ones a kids, but that might not do ya 😂

im a bit confused about when to apply the hotcoat. So on epoxy, after applying the cloth i need to let it dry, sand it and then hotcoat? And PU boards i can hotcoat without sand? If so, do i need to wait til the repair is fully cured before hotcoat (PU)? Cheers legend
@smallkinedings
@smallkinedings 7 ай бұрын
Yea you've got it. Epoxy is gonna take at least 4 hours to be workable but I usually leave it until the next day. Poly depends how much catalyst you put in your resin but after an hour you'll definitely be safe. You only really need it gelled so that when you're brushing on your hotcoat you're not moving your cloth around, it will continue to cure with the hotcoat
@hugosantos6099
@hugosantos6099 7 ай бұрын
Nice!! But on epoxy you sand the ding prior to apply the hotcoat ? Or let it dry , hotcoat and then sand it? Thanks mate
@smallkinedings
@smallkinedings 7 ай бұрын
@@hugosantos6099 every step with epoxy requires sanding before resin is laid. You don't want to sand the cloth off your repair but you need to scuff and key it for any fresh epoxy to stick

how can you tell the difference between Poly resin and Epoxy on a board?
@smallkinedings
@smallkinedings 11 ай бұрын
Solid question. First thing I check is for a wooden stringer, 99% of the time of the stringers wooden it’ll be poly. If the stringer a strip of carbon, likely epoxy. If the paint is under the glass it’ll be poly, paint on top epoxy. Check the board for writing too, epoxy boards will usually state it somewhere on the board. If it says ‘PE’ it’s epoxy over a PU blank. You can tell by looking at the foam through the glass as well if the boards not painted with a bit of practice, if it looks weird and cheap it’s EPS and epoxy

maybe they put the logo there to hide the crack during manufacture??
