Did you have the brakes released (air in the system) before caging the spring? or did you just tighten the caging nut down to release the spring?

Take all fittings off BEFORE you take it off the bracket, or hang it back on the brackets. No fighting the part.
@ISLANDTRUCKER6 ай бұрын
Only one airline have a swivel, you cannot take the other one off without first removing the chamber off the bracket. I wish this one have two swivels it would make the job a lot easier
@lowriderrider6 ай бұрын
@@ISLANDTRUCKER the fittings on the brake chamber, if it is on the bracket there is no fighting it on the floor and my trailer does have swivels at both ends

Invest in a flex then you could have used your impact gun
@ISLANDTRUCKER3 жыл бұрын
@@kirkbrown2147 whats a flex? This is what we use now at the shop with an impact amzn.to/3qOycQ8
@kirkbrown21473 жыл бұрын
@@ISLANDTRUCKER a flex is use to work in areas where you need greater degrees than a normal straight socket can accomplish. Look "1/2" flex on Google. It would be a good idea if you had a Milwaukee impact wrench. I said Milwaukee because that's the best one I know. Since you already have an air tool you can use the air on the truck as a compressor. You just have to make sure you have a shut off valve when you're finished doing your projects you can turn it off to close the air off from fir safety.

I hear alot of guys say freightliners have more electrical issues. Has that been. Your experience?
@ISLANDTRUCKER4 жыл бұрын
Only issue I have are with wires corroding over time, but that can happen with any vehicle depend on the vehicle history
@Hev2500hd4 жыл бұрын
Do you mostly run pre-emission trucks. I here they are pretty much the worst
@ISLANDTRUCKER4 жыл бұрын
I prefer pre-emission trucks, but when dealing with drivers they want to drive newer trucks
@Hev2500hd4 жыл бұрын
For a new owner operator would you say its best to avoid a DPF truck at all costs?
@ISLANDTRUCKER4 жыл бұрын
@@Hev2500hd I wouldn't really say avoid it, but inspect the truck properly, try to get a history on it and keep up on the maintenance. Especially the dpf filter, I would recommend cleaning it or replacing it once per year

A lot of that going on now. It's also difficult to get mechanics to come out when you need them
