Followed directions as shown and was able to successfully replace with a new battery. Works like a charm. Thanks!

Before watching your video, first attempt ever on opening an Oral-B toothbrush resulted in breaking it apart. Thank you for showing the proper way of how to open the toothbrush, now I can safely open and seal the brush without damaging it.

Thanks for your time and expertise. I've had my Braun Pro-Care Electric Toothbrush since 2005, and it just stopped charging here in 2021. It's probably time for a new one unless I can find somebody handy who loves to fix stuff for free. Thanks again, You're certainly awesome!

Thanks. After watching this I will just buy a new tooth brush.

Typical cynical behaviour of big business. They could easily design these toothbrushes so the battery is easy to replace, but no, they want you to buy a new one. No concern for the environment. Bastards

Pretty much, Andy. At the least, they could sell new handles without the charger base, but nope, everything gets chucked in the trash.

Andy, you have no idea, I worked for 7.5 yrs at The Gillette Company (now part of P&G). Gillette owned BrAun Products (correctly pronounced BROWN in Germany) among other subsidiary companies such as Duracell Battery (imagine the audacity when they could have marketed it with their own replacement batteries), Oral B, PaperMate Pens/Markers, Parker Pens, WriteBros, Flair, Liquid Paper (created by Bette Nesmith the mother of The Monkees Michael Nesmith ), Cricket Lighters, Dippity-do (Hair Gel), Right Guard, Dry Idea, Waterman (Hi End French Fountain Pens invented by Lewis Waterman a New Yorker), not to mention King Gillette's Safety Razors, Sensor, Sensor Excel, Daisy, Venus, etc, etc... & most EVERYTHING was created to be "DISPOSABLE". 😖🥴

As long as you can use it for a few years, it should break. Things should not last for ever.

Thank you. Managed to fit a triple A Ni-MH battery with some modifications. It's a bit sketchy, but now it works well.

I have two unit pack that came with single charger so I alternate brushes when I think of it. Purchased about 24-25 years ago. Amazingly one still works good, the other getting kinda slow. After watching your video I'm guessing a teardown is needed to get proper batteries. I guess 20+ years of service is really good, they don't owe me anything... soooo... it's a new one for me when they die! Thanks for the video 👍

When I replaced mine, several years ago in UK, it was just a generic 1.2v AA rechargeable. Looks like the manufacturer has got wise to that one and now using a non-standard one

I'm wondering, how many charges do you get out of this thing before it requires all of this effort? The high cost of these things is for the technology. They want us to depend on that and not know how to do anything manually anymore.

I have one that was sitting there a long time, but i never opened it until today, now it wont charge, the charging indicator doesn't light up. Any suggestions. Thank you

leave it there for a long time. the battery is probably so far decayed (voltage-wise) that the microprocessor inside can't even run

Cool! But it’s a shame. I wanted to do it and it is a lot more complicated than I thought. I hate to think this will end up in a landfill forever. I’m buying a bamboo toothbrush from now on.

Hi. I couldn't find a NiMH 42mm (or 49mm) x 14mm 1.2V 2200mAh to be replaced on my dead toothbrush. The only available here is a 3.7V 5500mAh. IF I USE THAT, WOULD THAT BE TOO MUCH AND WOULD THAT DESTROY THE TOOTHBRUSH ITSELF? I'm not an electrical guy. I need all the help I can get. Thank you!

usually it isnt a good idea to increase the voltage, but the charger might stop the charging after a specific amount. hard to say with your toothbrush

Now they seem to have a protection. When I tried to remove the battery something happened and it won't start anymore...

Nice, I was looking for a side business to get into and I'd think this principal would work for certain lady devices as well. With the way things are now days I believe the more satisfied women the better even if just to cut down on the bitching for a few minutes. Thanks man, take care.

They always put crap batteries and make it hardly servicable to buy another one. Mabe the battery is pretty expensive but exchaning it for something branded, not "noname", gives superior battery life. However charging circuits are poor and mechnic parts could fail sooner as well.

Well this is the one fault in this great toothbrush.
