Goes to show that people don't actually appreciate Prince's music as much as they appreciate appreciating Prince outside the musical context. edit: because this video is 6 years old and has 25k views. Love this song it's my favorite song by Prince

I think I read somewhere that Prince would go see the early punk bands in Minneapolis, so this song could in fact have been inspired by the Replacements

I think it was after Bob left. The Prince song came out in 1987, so it must've been Slim on guitar.
