Thank you for making this video. I just got my first M998 and was able to replace the water pump following your process. It took me and my 73 year young Father a couple days, but we got it! 😃 thanks again! 👍🏼

I could also see an issue if you had one of the aftermarket AC units mounted in that stack as well. Te good thing is that once that front end comes off everything is at ones disposal to work on.

What is the maximum temperature indicated by the coolant needle that you have ever reached under effort? Have you ever touched the line/notch next to the middle when overexerting yourself? Thank you

@louleone1032 yes. You need to remove the coolant stack. You can do the fan change from underneath and that takes a lot of skill but it’ll take longer. Much longer. It’s a two man job removing your hood and stack btw.

Well for civilian cars usually 50-60k miles. Sometimes it’s good to do it everytime you swap your timing belts out (gasoline powered cars). Is yours leaking? If so it’s time to change it out.

Did you only get leaks around the pump or did you also get leaks coming out of the top hose coming from the radiator during starting it?

From the seal… and the bearing was getting loose as well so it would squirt coolant into the belts and of course the belts would end up flinging it under the hood and spraying it everywhere.

Not really friend. I shot the videos in time lapse mode. Your best bet is to Inspect the components physically that I showed and go by the process I showed, you should be ok. Quite simply put, put everything back the way you removed it, only in reverse and replace all the hoses and the new parts and gaskets and belts. You should be OK.

Ouch! That cooling stack removal is a royal pain in the a$$! It would be nice if they had QD lines for the tranny cooler that self seal.

It really is. And you have to plug up the oil lines or you’ll have a mess on your hands.

My radiator was leaking , had to install myself. Not fun! Found radiator made of aluminum for less than $300.00 on ebay claimed to have Lifetime Warranty. I have seen original for $1,400.00

@@ztcssb3831 oh he’s the best for sure. I was really stressed out when I first got my HMMWV and he’s helped a lot. If he hadn’t checked my hubs last month I’d be driving on the highway with a wheel falling off. Lol.
