Going to be doing the same soon as well, but where can i find the adapters for the speakers if i get 6.5 inch speakers?

You are likely to find it anywhere where they sell car audio. It is not car specific; it’s just a 6x9 to 6.5 adapter.

Did your Eclipse come with the Rockford Fosgate ? I'm guessing it DID...leather seats, and looks like those speakers had rubber surrounds, but maybe not. I want to know if those are the RF speakers that you replaced though- let me know

It came with a RF head unit and the new speakers are CT Sounds

How did you break your car door handles? I'm just curious because I have a 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse and I am about to upgrade the door speakers. I just don't won't to pry to hard on the door handles when I'm removing the door and break the door handles. I hope you're able to see this comment sometime soon. Thanks.

This my friends car and he bought it that way. I’m not sure how the previous owner broke them. You don’t really need to pull on them hard to take them off. You should be fine.

The door handles will split in half horizontally revealing the bolt heads. If you google images of the door handles you will see them split apart in 2 halves.

I'd like to add that the door handles are sold on Amazon for around $20. So if they break then it's not an expensive fix. I had a GT back in the day and they broke off too. It's some stuff that this car just breaks or comes off. Other than that the car is pretty good if you maintain it. I have a GS with under 40k miles I plan to keep until it breaks.

When you installed speakers did it matter what brand ? I’m wondering if the Fosgate system will affect how they sound. As long as there 6.5?

Ben Torres The brand won’t affect it. Just make sure you get the right size.

Go with pioneer 3 way or kicker p2. Trust me on god

In confused, I need to find 6x5 or 6x9 speakers? Also 6.5 it’s 6x5?

You can use 6”x9” speakers or 6.5” with adapters. 6”x9”s are oval shaped and 6.5”s are round.

I don’t. I’ve never done it but you usually get access to the screws by removing the covers

My front speakers on the dash blew you know how to take the dash panel off to get to the speakers up front

If you're going that deep, might as well put 6*9 in the front.

Yeah I could’ve done that. I just prefer 6.5s. Round speakers sound better.
