I'm pretty sure you can just solder them like normal pots

I had to replace a pot on mine, and it was a nightmare. Nearly ended up destroying the whole board. Sure, there are adapters for pickups. But putting half decent pots on these is hell.

When wired correctly, there will be NO out if phase or hum, period - sorry - 30 years of experience or not. Yes the Gibson PCBs are not good quality. Out of phase and or hum is ALWAYS due to incorrect wiring - AND many times incorrect wiring/color coding from pickup manufacturer is the root cause. You wire it correctly as per color coding instructions - but if the pickup wiring is incorrect leaving the manufacturer it will be a moot point - in that case the coils need to be identified by measuring and wiring re-arranged. At one time we recorded about 10% out of phase as delivered pickups from Seymour Duncan, so if they can screw up their outgoing QC so can and will other suppliers.

You would need to unsolder the north and south ends that are soldered together at the pickup and run them with the hot and ground.

@@frankenstien6978 The purpose of the video would be obvious to most anyone.. The purpose was more about letting people know what is out there and available to use for the exact circumstances he showed.. It was extremely helpful for my situation. If your guitar is set up like mine and the guitar in the video,...then use pickups that are 4 wire with shielded ground. If you just HAVE TO use two wire pickups then you need to change the pots, caps, ect. out to the old conventional system... Your being condescending as if someone is dumb is ironic. If you were smart, you would have known all of this.

@@frankenstien6978 What was helpful was knowing who offers a product that fits my needs and that saves time vs doing it the old way and provides a service that makes the process even more simple. However, by contrast, seeing the information provided in this video about a product offered and then not understanding the value in it is not very smart and could easily be categorized as stupid. Mocking the color coded wiring that the manufacturer provides when you give them your pickup type Is not smart. You missed the entire message because your incapable of understanding. If your guitar is set up with a plug n play humbucker system and you want to replace the factory pickups with Seymour Duncans, Toneriders, ect. that do not have the quick connectors, then this is a quick, easy and great solution that keeps everything clean and in tact. Now run along sport and don't forget to brush your teeth.

Apparently to install to a molex connector you need some sort of special crimping tool. Simply soldering the wires together is a lot easier and accessible for most people.

Mahdista salman I actually just sold that standard and put up some more cash and got a 2011 R8, so I don’t have a PCB anymore. Now I have good old fashioned 50’s hand wiring with 500k CTS pots, and bumble bee capacitors. It’s beautiful!

How is this fragile? PCB are used in everything... you do know PCB are used in guitar pedals and they are subjected to heavy stomping and road abuse... so how are they fragile in a guitar??

Have you actually seen the connectors? I'm talking about the connectors themselves. The wires are barely in the plastic clip. The old style was stronger.

Yes, I have. The connector has two parts, the metal pins where the wires are crimped onto and the plastic plug/connector where it houses the pins. The pins are like spring loaded to give constant tension to the mating molex connector. This gives a constant contact. This is the same principle used in ELECTRONICS, yes in sensitive military and medical equipment. Also in your computer motherboards where data is sensitive. I know what I'm talking about and I do this IT stuff for a living.. Old style is strong indeed, but the new ones as well. If you want to be a cork sniffer then of course the old way is always better. If you are well informed and know the tech side of it then you know what I'm talking about.

Well my experience is that they are frail and the older style was more secure but they cheaped out and went with the newer smaller type with no supporting clip. Your bragging, insults and attitude proves to me you just bought your first guitar and are defensive about any criticism about it what so ever. I have two Les Paul's with PCB boards and I love them more then my fenders...so cool your insecurity. Who on earth gets defensive over an opinion on wiring?
