My 2006 is similar. I will use a small flathead screwdriver instead of a knife cause It may hurt the plastic surround. Thank you for the how to. Also LED bulb is a great idea.

One video days LED has a positive & a negative side & you must install it correctly. I cannot see anything showing the + & - on the map light connection. I installed 2 new switches and 2 LED bulbs & all worked great for a moment then failed. I replaced the LEDs with the old bulbs & nothing. I replaced the old switches and tried both kinds of bulbs. Nothing. Even my rear dome light quit. I replaced the 7.5 fuse under the drivers side dash & now the rear dome works. However, still nothing on the map lights. What did I do wrong? This must go beyond a fuse :( Another person mentioned the same thing. He installed a cheap LED kit from Amazon & now his maps won't work, even after installing a new fuse.

If you have a meter, check for 12v across the light contacts. Also check for continuity fron one of the light contacts to the switch. That's where I would start.

Hey brother i was having the same issue and i thought it would be a light bulb replacement but i got a new one today and nothing happens. I’m going to check fuses and such next. That side that you replaced on this video(map light) works on mine. Faulty one is the right side,Any thoughts? Thanks for the video!

Did you get a LED bulb the replace it? The LEDs only work in one direction. I mention this towards the end of the video. Other than a fuse check and a wire inspection, that's about the only 3 things that should keep it from working. Let me know what you find.
