Fabulous work. I'm teaching Auto Tech here in Tasmania, and your videos are epic. The CRV is popular here, and many of the students see this as a cheaper reliable car, which allows them to go camping and bush walking. The whole series is great. Ben

My CRV is starting to whine in the middle/back - so I'm suspecting driveshaft or rear diff problems. Mechanic tells me to wait until it gets worse in order to locate the problem :( Luckily I have a friend that has a hoist like yours - and I'm encouraged by watching your videos that it is a doable task to replace either of these. Greatly appreciate your clear presentation !

I have a 01 crv and it's making a rubbing noise as I seed up it gets louder. Sometimes it barely noticeable. Took to brake shop and the guy thought It might be the drive shaft. Really wish I find a trustworthy mechanic around here. The transmission seems to be acting normal. Another mechanic said brakes are rubbing. I cleaned the brake clips and caliper pins and it went away for a couple of days. I think I'm just going to pull the drive shaft to eliminate that first. Without a lift it's hard to pin it down. Wish I could send you some audio inside and outside to car. Great channel. Love my little crv but this a huge problem. Thanks

I've learned so much watching your videos! My 2000 when I purchased it had the drive shaft removed. I am from Northern Illinois but now in Phoenix. I've replaced basically the whole front suspension due to rust. I'm afraid to reinstall the drive shaft thinking it might have been removed for some strange reason. Eventually I'm going to have the transmission rebuilt and have make it a AWD again. I paid $1000 cash and it had 148,000 miles. The body and engine are perfect.

I replaced my broken shaft with a new one on my 1999 crv. The new one was 1/2" short. I managed to get it on and all bolts torqued. Six months later the new one failed. Any suggestions for the next 'new' driveshaft? Should it fit easily without pulling the bolts in on each end?

Just found you today, it’s great that someone has so much knowledge on crv. I have a gen 3 that I am trying to to turn into an over lander but continue to run into information roadblocks. Not much out there I can find on gen 3 in the way of gaining ground clearance and room for bigger tires. I have stuffed 235/65 r17 under it with no problems but would like to gain ground clearance. Any help?

Thanks for the video as always. It looks like you installed a used driveshaft rather than a new aftermarket one. I was wondering, do you know if there are any aftermarket brands that are better or worse than the rest? There are a bunch on RockAuto but I hear mixed reviews about all of the brands. Should I just try to find one at a junkyard that's in decent condition?

I just bought a Dorman off of Amazon for under $500. Rock Auto used to sell them but no longer. Lots of really cheap crap out there for $150 or so. 1A Auto sells TRQ for around $300. My 2nd choice. O'Reilly's wanted $560 for the Dorman.

curious to get your take on the ol' sway bar debate... I have replaced the tie rod ends twice, and bushings, and the tie rods ends would constantly loosen up - regardless of thread lock... I even doubled the nuts up, and it still sounds like I have busted upper/lower ball joints (I've replaced these) when I tighten the tie rods up, the sound improves, for like an hour. I am considering removing it entirely but of course that means removing the driveshaft and exhaust in order to get it out from the car. Thoughts? Thanks!
