Replacing The Battery in a Google Pixel 4XL with Instructions

This Pixel 4XL has a very swollen battery, so much so that it is causing the back cover to lift off. Today we will remove the back cover and battery, replace it with a new one and seal it all back up. Follow along to learn how and to see detailed instructions.

the only thing i would suggest from watching other videos is to connect the battery and test it before sealing it all up... as well as testing the camera after reinstall... also the battery replacement might need the adhesive strips modified to not cover that ribbon cable that runs under it.

Hello, my pixel 4 battery is swollen, and the nfc has stopped working. If I replaced the battery will the nfc work again? Or i need to find the replacement as well?

Can you remove the back even if it's not glass on the back? I took my google pixel 4Xl into a phone repair shop to get my battery replaced and they told me they HAD to remove the screen in order to change the battery.However, the risk of it was that it could break the screen so they would charge me more if that happens.

Unfortunately, if you have a 4A or 4A XL (which have a plastic back) you have to remove the screen to get to the battery and the rest of the internals. If you try to pry the back off, you’ll find it’s attached by several screws, which you can only get to by removing the screen.

hi my google pixel 4xl battery connector isn’t connecting to thr board. im not sure if im doing something wrong. i tried putting camera connector it connects fine. but battery connector doesn’t. does the battery connector clips in. i try to press on the connector, but does not connect. any idea what could be the problem

The Pixel 4XL battery connector should definitely clip into place. If it won't, it could be a defective battery connector, or there could be damage to the board side of the clip. I couldn't say more without seeing it.

Don't you need to reapply the adhesive under the battery? And you didn't oem adhesive for the displatly. Hack job.

hello my google isn't charging it shows a "?" sign , took it to a phone shop and they said that the battery should be replaced , should i trust the process or can this be related to the battery connector ? please answer me

That almost always means the battery needs to be replaced. If you’re not comfortable doing it yourself I would take it to a reputable shop.

@@colchesterphonerepair3835 it just kinda confused me since i bought it like 10 months ago , and it was supposed to be brand new , and also , the battery was working fine , till it started like ,showing that amrk after i dropped it , then a week ago , it completely went off , so that means that the battery was a faulty one , and can several drops dammage it ? , i feel more comfy now that i got ur answer about it , thank u !
