I carried out this repair yesterday, and it went perfectly, thank you! Also, if anyone is attempting this, take your time, use plenty of heat (but not too hot so that you don't damage the phone) and only use plastic tools. Some kind of solvent is needed to handle the glue, or pick it away with something plastic, but be careful not to scratch the coating off of the inside of the back glass cover if you're taking this approach...

I'm actually thinking about replacing my S9 battery in a year or two. Since I use the phone heavily. You have given me the courage to do this myself.

Thanks Nikolay, i had an abandoned S8+ coz the battery was so old that a full charge lasted 3 hours, other than that it was in pristine condition, with your help it now has a new battery and gonna gift it to my family!

Really nice job with this video. One suggestion - mention to heat the glue on the back to about 130 degF before trying to separate. If the glue is not warm enough, it is more likely that the back glass will break!

Thanks for the video. Very clear and very thorough. I have the Galaxy 8 for about 3 years now and I think the battery has seen its day. However I am not as confident doing it myself. But what you have given me is the courage to change it rather than buy a new one. I love this phone so I may spend a little bit and have it done by Samsung themselves which they do here. I have the Galaxy 7 still and am not using it coz same problem battery and nothing else.

that battery is in there GOOD man. Also would not recommend using guitar picks as props when you're removing te back cover, because the uneven pressures caused my cover to crack right down the middle

Water resistance in smartphones was a scum..I have been using my phone for a year and almost 2 months and never dropped it in water or swim with it.. I would prefer and trade removable back for water resistance... Smartphone companies know these batteries start to lose their quality after 2years .. so its just to push consumers to buy new smartphones which is a scum.

Seeing that this was over a year and a half ago, how is the replacement battery doing now?

The hardest part is still opening the back glass without breaking it due to the corners. For the average user it's a challenge. I need to replace my S8 battery as well after over 2 years of usage but I'm still skeptic in doing it myself but it's probably worth it

Hi Cool video. I don't have the Samsung S8+ but I do have a Samsung📱J7 Neo android phone which dead now[for like maybe 2/3wks or so etc..] So my few questions are. Why does this phone share your video Samsung S8+ comes with everything stuck to the phone is that not bad/worst to cause more than damage to the phone itself? than just put on back cover itself & let it click in place with the phone? 2. Lastly Should you remove your micro sd card & such things first from your phone before carrying your phone to get battery replacement etc.. done by local phone repair store here so as not to lose any data that maybe store on them?[ such like contacts,photos, games etc.] or should you leave them in? & 3. Lastly would this involve anything to do with having to reset your phone📱? or no? Tfs & your reply asap.
